LITTLE ROCK — Kristina Elizabeth Kamm Young,

-

a passionate advocate, loving mother, and unwaveringly generous friend, passed away Dec. 23, 2020, at home in Little Rock at age 45. She was born in Rochester, N.H., on June 6, 1975, to Thomas Kamm and Maureen Heimgartner Kamm, who both preceded her in death.

Kristina was a fighter: the storm, thunder, and lightning all in one, and a source of calm, strength, and hope for so many of her many friends and family. Every breath she took was a gift to this world and her intelligence and wit will never be forgotten by those whose lives she touched.

Growing up she enjoyed dance, basketball, cheerleading, and making everyone around her laugh. A graduate of Ozark High School, Kristina attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She began her career as a marketing analyst at Procter & Gamble, and from there continued her successful career working as a brand manager at several companies, including Pactiv and Abbott Labs. Kristina was also an avid volunteer and served on boards and committees of several organizations including the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks and the Kiss A Pig Gala for the American Diabetes Association.

She is survived by her three beloved children Austin Ross, Emery Young and Grayson Young, all of Fayetteville; her life partner, Melanie Neal of Little Rock; siblings Randall Kamm and wife Meredith of West Monroe, La., Kori Kamm Keith and husband Gary of Naples, Fla., and Hans Kamm and wife Sarah of Springdale; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Ozark with Reverend Stoner officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Open viewing from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Shaffer Funeral Home chapel, 2315 W. Commercial St., Ozark.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that condolences be offered in the form of donations to Oasis of NWA, a nonprofit women’s transitional living community. Kristina served on the board of directors there, and a scholarship has been established at Oasis in her memory.
