83, of Springdale, passed away on Jan. 7, 2021, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born on Sept. 9, 1937, in Rapid City, S.D., to Irvan Earl Sampson and Mary Mildred Young Sampson.

She met her husband Rex, while volunteeri­ng at a USO event in Port Townsend, Wash. They were married in 1955 and together they had a 24-year Navy career until they settled in Northwest Arkansas. She was an active member of Cross Church in Springdale. She worked in many ministries, for all ages, including Music Ministry in nursing homes, a clown ministry, Girls In Action, Vacation Bible School, Banner ministry, and Blessing Baskets ministry.

She volunteere­d at The Jones Center, Springdale Senior Center, Circle of Life Hospice, Ladies Extension Club, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and USO. She was a prayer warrior and a good servant of the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex Eugene Hayes; grandson, Daniel James Hayes; and three brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Hayes and wife, Becky, of Colorado, Richard Hayes of Springdale, and Randy Hayes of the home; four daughters, Catherine Adams and husband, Steve, of Oregon, Cheryl Dayley and husband, Chris, of Idaho, Christi Meeks and husband, Chuck, of Nebraska, and Donna Roper and husband, Randy, of Oklahoma; one sister, Carol Kenyon of Washington; nine grandchild­ren; 14 great-grandchild­ren; two great-great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces; nephews; and other family members.

Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale officiated by Charlie Foster. Interment will follow at Buckeye Cemetery in Hindsville.

Visitation will take place Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.
