Martha Lue Kelly Moreland,

82, of Rogers, died peacefully at home on March 10, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born May 6, 1938, in Shreveport, La., to the late Daniel Homer and Ethel Taylor Kelly.

She attended Minden High School in Louisiana, where she was president of the Glee Club and member of the basketball team. It was at a basketball game, at age 15, where she met and ultimately married the love of her life, Ralph. They were married for 61 years.

She was a wife, homemaker, legal secretary, school volunteer, flower arranger, office manager, seamstress, data entry clerk, entreprene­ur, and Razorback fan. However, her most treasured roles were that of mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r (a.k.a. Grandpris).

She is survived by one son, Kelly W. Moreland (Paige) of Rogers; two daughters, R. Kay Lewis of Rogers, and June M. Hendren (Scott ) of Little Rock; nine grandchild­ren, Wade Waters, Dru Blakeley, Christophe­r Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, Hayley Hendren, Malorie Moreland, Thomas Moreland, Kyle Hendren and Ryan Moreland; and five great-grandchild­ren. She is also survived by two sisters, Imogene Lindsey and Sue Pearson, of Minden, La.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Moreland; a daughter, Joan M. Waters; an infant son; three brothers; and two sisters.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributi­ons made in her memory to the Northwest Arkansas Circle of Life Hospice, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
