PREP BASEBALL

ALMA 8, OZARK 6

Alma rallied with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated Ozark in nonconfere­nce action.

After two runs scored on a walk and a hit batter with the bases loaded, Branson Brogan’s ground ball resulted in an Ozark error and allowed the Airedales to score the tying and go-ahead runs. Jacob Machen then added a sacrifice fly to complete the five-run sixth.

Brogan and Machen finished with two hits and an RBI to lead Alma, while Chandler O’Kelley pitched five innings and picked up the win.

Shiloh Christian at McDonald County, Mo., 5 p.m.

PREP SOFTBALL FARMINGTON 9, BENTONVILL­E WEST 7

Farmington did all of its scoring in the fifth inning, then held off West to earn a nonconfere­nce win at Farmington and hand the Lady Wolverines their first loss.

West (9-1) owned a 4-0 lead until Farmington (11-2) took over. Remington Adams had a two-run triple, then Carson Griggs gave the Lady Cardinals the lead for good when her two-run double put them ahead 5-4.

Justine Davidson and Kameyn Uher each had two hits and drove in a run for Farmington. Laynee Tapp had two hits and scored three times to lead West, while Sarah Cooper also had two hits.

FS SOUTHSIDE 1, GREENWOOD 0

Meliah Hunter shut out Greenwood on five hits as Southside pulled out a nonconfere­nce win on the road.

Hunter threw 90 pitches, 57 for strikes, and struck out six while not walking a batter.

The Lady Mavericks scored the only run in the second when Laney Emmert walked and later scored when Madi Conklin hit into a fielder’s choice.

Haven Clements pitched four innings for Greenwood and allowed the lone run on four hits, while Tori Howard finished the game in the circle.

ALMA 16, WALDRON 0

Alma erupted for 12 runs in the third inning and put an early end to its nonconfere­nce game at Waldron.

Shelbi Hesson had a pair of doubles and finished with three hits and four RBIs to lead the Lady Airedales, while Jacklyn Petree added two hits and drove in two runs and Makinzie Erwin had two hits and an RBI.

Petree also finished with a three-inning perfect game as she struck out four of the nine Waldron batters she faced.

Pea Ridge 4, Hackett 2

Pea Ridge did all of its scoring in the first inning, and the Lady Blackhawks earned a nonconfere­nce victory at home.

Aidan Dayberry drove in Pea Ridge’s first run when her single scored Blakelee Winn, who had a leadoff double to left. Danice White followed with a three-run double for a 4-0 cushion.

Dayberry was also the winning pitcher as she scattered seven hits and struck out nine in a 112-pitch outing. She also had two of Pea Ridge’s four hits.
