COMBS — Ruby Joyce Harvison McGuire,

87, passed away on April 10, 2021, at Windcrest Health and Rehab in Springdale, Ark. She was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Sharps Cross Roads in Independen­ce County, Ark.

Joyce was a loving mom and grandmothe­r who dedicated herself to raising her children and having fun with her grandchild­ren. Her fondest activity was cooking, especially for family gatherings and holidays.

Joyce was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, and a retired Manager of the university’s Dining Services where she spent a number of years feeding Razorback athletes. If you asked her what she did for a living, she would lovingly say she “slopped the Hogs”.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William Iral Harvison and Cleo Raye Bolin Harvison; two brothers, Lynne Doyle Harvison and William Ray Harvison; and one great-grandson, James Perry Freeman.

She is survived by one son, Marc McGuire, and wife, Cindy, of Garland, Texas; three daughters, Cherie McGuire of Tulsa, Okla., Cathy Hamilton and husband, Brian, of Combs, Ark., and Michele McGuire and husband, Lance Coleman, of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren, Amber Freeman and husband, John, of Livingston, Texas, Camille Dodd and husband, Arron of Manchester, Tenn., Daniel Copley and wife, Tish of Broken Arrow, Okla., Serena Copley of Lakewood, Colo., Angela Ray and husband, Zack of Combs, Ark., and Hailey French and Whitney French, both of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; and six great-grandchild­ren, Johnny and Thalia Freeman, Alice Dodd, and Maiya, Keira and Ayden Copley.

Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le, Ark., with details to follow.
