Dawn Catron Nowlin
passed away peacefully in her home April 12, 2021. On Aug. 18, 1955, Walter and Marian Catron welcomed their oldest daughter Dawn Lynn in Stevensville, Newfoundland.
Being the daughter of an Air Force colonel, she proudly adopted the title “Air Force brat” and gained countless exciting experiences living all over the world. Her experiences range from smuggling a beloved pet turtle “Happy” from Germany, to establishing family and friendships in Virginia and Oklahoma.
After graduating from Langley High in Mclean, Va., she followed her calling to become a nurse through Tulsa Junior College. Connecting with and caring for patients became a deeply ingrained passion for Dawn.
While working at Hillcrest Hospital, she met the love of her life, Bill Nowlin. After a few more years in Oklahoma, celebrating a beautiful wedding and completing more medical training, they settled down in Fayetteville, Ark. Here they opened their office for Colon and Rectal Surgery.
She was active within her community by serving as president of the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas. In her free time, she enjoyed coffee and laughter with friends, painting, fishing, and living life to its fullest with her family.
She is best remembered for being an adventurous and passionate mother, her quick wit, contagious laughter, and her utmost love and adoration for Mexican cuisine.
She lovingly leaves behind her mother, Marian; sister and brother-in-law Dina and Joe Trimble; husband Dr. Bill Nowlin; daughters Nicole, Katy and Devin; and niece and nephew Georgia and Will Trimble.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Circle of Life, or a charity of your choosing. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark., with Mr. Mike Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery in Colcord, Okla. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
