SPRINGDALE — Leandra Curiel,
age 69, a resident of Springdale, Ark., passed away on Aug. 1 1 , 2021 , in Springdale, Ark. She was born March 13, 1952, on El Ranchito del Espíritu Santo in Atenguillo, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Eustacio and Ruf ina Curiel.
She resided in Mexico for 22 years until moving to California where she lived for 17 years. She was a longtime resident of Arkansas for 30 years. She married Juan Curiel on Jan. 10, 1974, and they had three children: George, Carmen, and Johnny. Leandra had a strong faith in the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, cooking and crocheting. She was a joy to those around her, loved serving others and treasured her grandchildren.
Leandra is survived by her husband of the home, Juan Curiel; her son, George Curiel and his wife Melissa of Rogers, Ark.; her daughter, Carmen Flynt and husband Dwayne of Springdale, Ark.; and her son, Johnny Curiel and wife Erika of Cave Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren, Sarah Curiel, Evan Curiel, Celeste Curiel, Allison Flynt, Mason Flynt and Henry Curiel; four brothers; five sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 16, from 4-6 p.m., with a Celebration of Life from 6-8 with Eddie Cantu officiating at Centro Cristiano, 1751 N. 56th St., in Springdale. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m., at Westfield Chapel with Jose Curiel officiating. Interment will follow at Bluff Cemetery, 900 N. Shiloh St., Springdale, Ark.
