FAYETTEVIL­LE — Angela Dawn Southerlan­d,

56, of Fayettevil­le, Ark ., peace fully passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, in Fort Smith, Ark. Angie was born June 9, 1965, in Sallisaw, Okla., to Albert Southerlan­d, Jr., and Wyneta Southerlan­d (Branham).

She graduated from Gans High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree from Northeaste­rn State University. Angie was a certified public accountant and Vice President and Corporate Controller at Twin Rivers Foods in Fayettevil­le. She previously taught math at Muldrow High School.

Angie is survived by one sister, Carol Cowan of Roland, Okla.; four brothers, George Southerlan­d of Alma, Ark., Roger Southerlan­d and wife, Vicki, of Muldrow, Okla., Bob Southerlan­d and wife, Cathy, of Roland, David Southerlan­d and wife, Theresa, of Tahlequah, Okla.; 12 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; one great- greatnephe­w; and countless other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brotherin-law, Wayne Cowan.

Angie was extremely generous, a lifelong follower of Christ, and an avid fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and University of Arkansas Hogs. She was a long-standing member of Cross Church in Fayettevil­le. Her kindness, positivity, humor, and lightheart­ed nature were infectious.

She enjoyed tennis and annually wagered a Coke against her brothers on the Bedlam football game. She poured herself into her family and was endlessly engaged in her favorite role as Aunt Ang.

A graveside celebratio­n of Angie’s life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow.

Viewing is available Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow.

The family will greet friends from 6- 8 p. m., on Wednesday. Masks are encouraged.

Pallbearer­s are nephews Danny Southerlan­d, Jeremy Southerlan­d, Nick Southerlan­d, Justin Southerlan­d, Kevin Cowan and Houston Southerlan­d. Honorary pallbearer­s are Larry Ulmer, Andy Row and Ryan Ensley.

Special thanks to the staff at Chapel Ridge Health and Rehab in Fort Smith for taking such good care of their Disney princess.
