ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 18, SW OKLAHOMA 16

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas-Monticello defense stopped a two-point conversion attempt that could have tied the game with 6:49 to play in the fourth quarter, and the UAM offense never let Southweste­rn Oklahoma (0-5, 0-5 GAC) get the ball back in the mud and rain at Willis “Convoy” Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium.

Sophomore quarterbac­k Demilon Brown passed for 150 yards and 1 touchdown, and he rushed 24 times for 127 yards and another score for the Boll Weevils (3-2, 3-2 GAC).

UAM outgained Southweste­rn Oklahoma 315-255 and held the ball for 35:54 of the game’s 60 minutes.

Devontae Dean ( 16- 44 rushing) scored one of UAM’s three touchdowns, on a 3-yard run with 3:58 to play in the first half.

ARKANSAS TECH 51, SOUTHERN NAZARENE 41

BETHANY, Okla. — Senior quarterbac­k Jack Lindsey passed for 247 yards and three touchdowns and Lindsey also rushed for a score to lead Arkansas Tech (1-4, 1-4 GAC) to victory at SNU Stadium.

The Wonder Boys passed for 247, rushed for 174, and they used a 37-point second quarter to take a 4421 halftime lead.

The game was tied 21-21 with 4:25 to play in the first half when the Wonder Boys broke the game open.

Lindsey hit Brennon Lewis for a 24yard touchdown with 3:27 left in the half to make it 28-21.

A Southern Nazarene fumble led to another Arkansas Tech drive, which ended in a 1-yard run by Caleb Batie.

Tech added a safety with 1:01 to play in the half, and the Wonder Boys got the ball back and scored another touchdown with 11 seconds to play in the first half on a 40-yard TD pass from Lindsey to Drew Wade.

EAST CENTRAL (OKLA.) 38, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 17

ADA, Okla. — East Central University ( 4- 1, 4- 1 GAC) scored a touchdown on the game’s first possession against Southern Arkansas, built a 31-9 third-quarter lead and never trailed to beat the Muleriders.

Southern Arkansas (2-3, 2-3 GAC) got three field goals from kicker Austin Wilkerson, but the Muleriders could not score a touchdown until the fourth quarter.

ECU outgained SAU 423- 303, including an advantage of 235-80 on the ground.

SAU senior quarterbac­k Hayden Mallory completed 21 of 36 passes for 210 yards, but was intercepte­d twice.

HARDING 31, OKLAHOMA BAPTIST 7

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Senior fullback Cole Chancey rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns, and Harding controlled the ball for nearly 40 of the game’s 60 minutes to win at Crain Family Stadium.

Harding held OKBU to a 57-yard TD pass on its first possession and 267 yards of offense.

Harding took control in the second quarter with Chancey scoring from 6 yards out on the first play of the period.

The first of two Harding intercepti­ons came from Cory Batie, who stepped in front of a receiver, made the intercepti­on and returned it 31 yards to the OKBU 34.

Harding had fourth and 10 on the ensuing possession. Quarterbac­k Preston Paden carried around the left side and was almost tackled short of the first down. With a defender hanging on him, he pitched to Taylor Bissell who went 23 yards to keep the drive alive.

Chancey scored on a 1-yard run to complete that drive and give Harding a 14-7 lead with 5:10 left in the quarter.

HENDERSON STATE 27, SOUTHEASTE­RN OKLAHOMA 24

DURANT, Okla. — Temo Martinez kicked a 36-yard field with 9:25 to play in the fourth quarter, and Henderson State (5-0, 5-0 GAC) held on to defeat Southeaste­rn Oklahoma in a matchup of the two remaining undefeated teams in the Great American Conference at Paul Laird Field.

Henderson State rallied from a 14-7 deficit to take a 21-14 halftime lead on Duce Sproles’ 3-yard touchdown run with 38 seconds to play in the first half.

Southeaste­rn Oklahoma took the second-half kickoff and drove 75 yards in six plays to tie the game at 21-21 with 12:36 to play in the third quarter.

Henderson responded with an 18play drive that took 9:57 and ended in a 33-yard field by Martinez with 2:34 to play in the third quarter.

Martinez’s second field goal of the second half gave the Reddies a 27-24 lead, and Henderson forced a punt from the Savage Storm with 4:55 to play.

The Reddies were able to run out the clock to secure victory.

Quarterbac­k Adam Morse ( 22- 27 passing, 195 yards, 2 TDs) also rushed for 46 yards.
