First Watch is pumped for pumpkin

- BY KAREN RICE NORTHWEST ARKANSAS DEMOCRATGAZETTE

It’s October, and the season of all things pumpkin is here. Lucky for breakfast and brunch fans in Northwest Arkansas, that means the incredible Pumpkin Pancakes are back at First Watch for a limited time. So get over to your neighborhood First Watch (in Fayetteville, Rogers or Bentonville), so you don’t miss out on this seasonal delight.

Their signature-spiced pancakes play a starring role in the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast—two cage-free eggs cooked any style plus a delicious Pumpkin Pancake and a grilled all-natural savory chicken sausage patty. And that sausage patty is something special too. The First Watch chef traveled to Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin to craft the perfect Chicken Apple Sausage recipe with the culinary team at Jones Dairy Farm. It’s another delicious part of their amazing, chef-curated menu.

And you’ll love starting off your meal by sipping a healthy, refreshing Carrot Crush, blending carrot, orange, coconut water, turmeric and lemon.

The season of pumpkin spice wouldn’t be complete without First Watch’s scrumptious Pumpkin Spice donuts.

Warm cake donut holes are tossed with pumpkin spiced sugar and lightly dusted with powdered cinnamon sugar. Served with salted caramel apple butter and crème anglaise.

Pair those pumpkiny treats with First Watch’s famous Million Dollar Bacon, baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle.

Also on the fall menu is the hearty and satisfying Short Rib Omelet. Savory red wine–braised beef short ribs, house-roasted shallots and Crimini mushrooms, fresh spinach and Mozzarella cheese. Topped with Parmesan cream sauce and fresh herbs. Served with lemon dressed organic mixed greens and ciabatta toast.

Or maybe you’d prefer the Truffle Mushroom Hash. It features house-roasted Shiitake and Crimini mushrooms, crispy diced bacon and Monterey Jack cheese atop fresh, seasoned potatoes. Topped with two cage-free eggs any style, Parmesan cream sauce, truffle oil and lemon dressed arugula.

keeping things fun and fresh, farm to fork. Everything here is made from scratch, in house, from their French Toast batter and baked goods to veggies sliced and juices squeezed Fresh. Every. Day.

Luckily for folks in Northwest Arkansas, there are three First Watch restaurants to choose from: Fayetteville, Rogers and Bentonville. Amanda Lehmann, Director of Operations for the First Watch locations (two in Springfield, one in Joplin, one in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; and now three in Northwest Arkansas), came to the company three years ago “from what you know as Panera,” she says. The hard-working woman in the chef coat can be found cooking, hosting and guiding her staff in best practices at any time in her numerous locations. “Serving people is the best part about working for First Watch,” Amanda notes. “I love being in customer service, and having the fresh food focus just feels right. It feels good to me.”

Project Sunrise Coffee: always in season

Enjoy every delectable dish with a cup of First Watch’s signature, awardwinning Project Sunrise coffee. Their dedication to healthy harvesting, fresh food and compassion for community led the First Watch team to the heart of Colombia, where they met the Mujeres en Café, and created Project Sunrise coffee. The First Watch team visits and learns from that community, and gives back in ways like improving their schools and investing in their future; and they get some of the world’s best coffee in return. “Better Coffee. Better World.” That’s the Project Sunrise promise. With each visit to a First Watch restaurant, you’ll be greeted with a smile and a whole pot of their premium roast to start your day off right.

With so much feel-good freshness; First Watch is your go-to for the greatest breakfast, brunch and lunch in town. Get your pumpkin spice on and celebrate the flavors of fall with a fresh seasonal meal experience like no other!
