FAIRFIELD, Iowa — Anthony “Tony” David Hughell,

66, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at his home surrounded by family and friends. As were Tony’s wishes, his body has been cremated.

A celebratio­n of Tony’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the VFW in Fairfield, Iowa. Tony David Hughell was born on May 17, 1955, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to John D. and Vena L. Daniels Hughell. He grew up on the family farm and spent many years farming alongside his father. Tony drove a semi over the road for many years and most recently worked at Winn Corp., where he retired in November of 2019. Tony kept life simple and enjoyed drag racing and camping with Nadine. He was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and enjoyed his right to keep and bear arms. Tony always considered his best times were spent with family and friends with a cold beer in his hand. He will be missed by his family and the many friends he made along the way.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sandy Hayes; and a sisterin-law, Jayne Hughell.

Left to share his story is his lifetime partner, Nadine Dille of Fairfield, Iowa; three children, Danielle Hughell, Melissa (Brian) Coop, and Ashley Crouse (Corey Burrus), all of Bentonvill­e, Ark., as well as Derek (Jamie) Dille and Melissa Dille (Clayton Hixson). who he thought of as his own; eight grandchild­ren, Ashlynn, Brock, Julia, Stephen, Jayden, Serenity, Charlotte, and Vada; one brother, Reg (Diana) Hughell of Batavia; a brotherin-law, Bill Hayes of Wilton, Iowa, as well as many extended family and friends.
