FAYETTEVILLE — Darrell Ray Davis

-

left this world and passed into the joy and peace of the next on September 28, 2021.

Twins Darrell and Jarrell were born August 23, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., to Gladys and Eugene Davis. They were welcomed home by brothers Charles, born in April, 1940 and Ben, born in January, 1942, so for eight months, there were four little boys in that household under the age of four years. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Ben. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Pat Davis of the home, twin brother Jarrell and wife Michelle of Greenland, Ark., brother Charles and wife Cynthia of Leawood, Kan., brother Terry and wife K.C. of Panama City, Fla., sister Connie Green and husband Stan of Fayetteville, Ark., and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He felt very blessed to have had great-niece Lori and great-nephews Dalton and Donavan spend several years as part of his home.

Darrell was a draftsman, educated in Fort Smith Technical College and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He worked for Shakespeare, Pratt-Whitney and other local companies and as an independent contractor.

Darrell was an avid supporter of the Greenland Pirates Band and sports programs and enjoyed attending games in person. In his leisure time he could often be found in his recliner with one of his cats watching Razorback sports on TV.

Darrell was a lifelong Christian and a member of the Church of Christ. Several people have said they have never heard him make a negative remark about another human being or speak a word in anger. The family asks that, in his memory, donations be made to the Greenland Church of Christ in support of the charitable works supported by his home congregation.
