HARDING 73, NW OKLAHOMA STATE 14

ALVA, Okla. — The Harding Bisons, the No. 2 team in the NCAA Division II Super Region 3 rankings, rushed for a school-record 674 yards and 10 touchdowns and set a program record for points in a road game at Northweste­rn Oklahoma State’s Ranger Field.

Harding (8-1, 8-1 GAC) scored touchdowns on six of their seven their first-half possession­s and added a 54-yard field goal on their seventh drive to build a 45-0 halftime lead.

The Bisons had three freshmen — Jhalen Spicer (7-146), Blake Delacruz (12-136) and Will Fitzhugh (10-116) — rush for more than 100 yards.

It was the third time Harding has had three rushers gain 100 or more yards in a game.

The Bisons led 21-0 after one quarter and outgained the Rangers 412-21 in the first 30 minutes.

Harding took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards in 11 plays, scoring on a 10-yard by Cole Chancey (8-49, 2) with 8:44 to go in the first quarter.

The Bisons then recovered an onside kick at the Harding 48. Chancey scored four plays later on a 2-yard-run with 7:17 to go in the quarter, and the rout was on.

OUACHITA BAPTIST 43, EAST CENTRAL (OKLA.) 28

ADA, Okla. — Senior safety Hayden Lassiter’s intercepti­on return for a touchdown on the final play of the third quarter triggered a run of 27 consecutiv­e points by Ouachita Baptist in a come-from-behind victory over East Central (Okla).

OBU (8-1, 8-1 GAC) trailed 28-17 after punter Gabe Goodman pinned ECU at its 3 with 5 seconds to play in the third quarter.

ECU quarterbac­k Kenny Hrncir (11-23, 183 yards, 2 TDs) tried to pass out of the end zone, but it was intercepte­d by Lassiter at the 10 and it was taken into the end zone to cut the lead to 28-23.

OBU failed to convert a two-point conversion, and the quarter ended with OBU trailing. OBU held East Central (5-4, 5-4) on downs on its next possession and got the ball back at its 43 with 13:39 to play.

OBU drove 57 yards in 7 plays, with junior TJ Cole scoring on a 1-yard TD run with 10:09 to play.

Cole, the GAC’s leading rusher, finished with 32 rushes for 226 yards and 4 touchdowns. OBU added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter after Cole’s 1-yard run.

OBU got the ball back after forcing another ECU punt and went 63 yards in 6 plays. Freshman Kendel Givens (17-76, 1) scored his 20th touchdown of the season on a 28yard with 6:40 to play.

Cole’s 53-yard run with 1:48 to play finished the scoring for OBU.

HENDERSON STATE 34, SOUTHERN NAZARENE 3

ARKADELPHI­A — Senior quarterbac­k Adam Morse passed for 237 yards and rushed for 66 to lead the Henderson State Reddies (8-1, 8-1 GAC) to victory over the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm (1-8, 1-8) at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.

Duce Sproles (13-56 rushing) scored on touchdowns runs off 11 yards and 1 yard in the first half, and Morse completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to L’Liott Curry late in the second quarter to give the Reddies a 24-3 halftime lead.

Redshirt junior linebacker Jake Chatman returned a Jarvis Davis pass 62 yards for a score with 10:07 to play in the third quarter to give the Reddies a 31-3 lead.

SE OKLAHOMA STATE 34 ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 14

DURANT, Okla. — Daulton Hatley passed for 197 yards and two touchdowns and Trey Keatts kicked two field goals to lead the Southeaste­rn Oklahoma Savage Storm over the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils at Paul Laird Field.

SEO (7-2, 7-2 GAC) jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Boll Weevils (4-5, 4-5) scored on a 14-yard pass from Demilon Brown to C.J. Parham (5-80, receiving, 1 TD) with 5:30 to play in the first half.

UAM’s Brown (22-33 passing, 251 yards, 1 TD; 18-38 rushing, 1 TD) made it a 31-14 game on a 2-yard run to complete an 8-play, 89-yard drive with 7:15 to play in the game.

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST 44 SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 40

MAGNOLIA — Oklahoma Baptist scored two touchdowns in the final 8:32 at Wilkins Stadium to take the lead from Southern Arkansas, and the Bison (6-3, 6-3 GAC) held on to defeat the Muleriders (3-6, 3-6).

SAU led 40-30 after Hayden Mallory hit Micah Small with a 75-yard touchdown pass with 10:49 to play.

Oklahoma Baptist came back behind senior quarterbac­k Preston Haire (31-46 passing, 273 yards, 2 TDs; 14-114 rushing, 1 TD). Haire scored on an 8-yard run to complete a nine-play, 75-yard drive with 8:37 to play, to cut SAU’s lead to 40-37. OKBU got the ball right back after Mallory (257 passing, 1 TD) threw an intercepti­on on the Muleriders’ ensuing possession.

The Bison scored 10 plays later on a 9-yard pass from Haire to Josh Cornell with 4:07 left.

Freshman running back Jariq Scales (21138 rushing, 1 TD) went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season for the Muleriders.

ARKANSAS TECH 15, SW OKLAHOMA ST. 14

WEATHERFOR­D, Okla. — Junior place-kicker Jesus Zizumbo connected on a 36-yard field goal with 8 seconds left as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys scored nine points in the final five minutes to get the victory and keep Southweste­rn Oklahoma State winless at Flex-Chem Field.

Arkansas Tech (3-6, 3-6 GAC) received a second chance with less than 2 minutes to go when a SWOSU intercepti­on return for an apparent touchdown was nullified by a defensive holding penalty, giving the Wonder Boys a first down at their 40.

SWOSU was penalized 14 times for 165 yards in the game.

ATU, playing with backup quarterbac­k Caleb Canady after Jack Lindsey was injured earlier in the fourth quarter, drove to the SWOSU 19 before using its final timeout.

SWOSU (0-9, 0-9) called a timeout to try to ice Zizumbo, but he was undeterred, splitting the uprights with room to spare.

The big play on the drive was a 29-yard completion from Canady to Mason Ross to the SWOSU 21 with 22 seconds to play.

Arkansas Tech trailed 14-6 with 10:40 to play in the fourth quarter when it went on a 16-play, 97-yard drive that consumed 7:03 and ended with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Canady to Ross. The Wonder Boys went for a 2-point conversion, but it failed.
