Intrusion in our lives
My opinion is based on decades of experience dealing with government regulations, particularly OSHA, DOT, and EPA, I never read where Congress put vaccines within OSHA’s purview in the agency’s charter. OSHA has no authority I know of to establish a medical treatment or vaccine mandate. While OSHA has specific authority to regulate the use of toxic substances or agents because they are flammable, explosive, or carcinogenic that can cause physical harm, a biological virus doesn’t fit into any of the hazard categories OSHA has authority to regulate.
Congress did give the Department of Health and Human Services authority to determine the safety, efficacy, and appropriate use of vaccines. Within that agency, the Food and Drug Administration may determine whether vaccines should be allowed in interstate commerce, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may recommend who should receive such vaccines. Their authority is limited approval, interstate commerce, and making recommendations and doesn’t give them the authority to mandate anything.
I believe this overreach is little more than a typical Biden administration egregious maneuver that attempts to coerce people into voluntary compliance using fear and threats because otherwise it won’t fly. Their only hope of pulling it off is coercing voluntary employer compliance. Here’s hoping Attorney General Leslie Rutledge joins other states in litigation to stop this egregious intrusion into our lives, prosperity, and property in violation of our God-given rights so the courts can put a stop to it quickly.
