‘Oath’ views sickening

-

I am a retired United States Air Force chief master sergeant and I was a B-52 crew chief in Guam during the Vietnam war. I took the oath when I enlisted in 1956 and every time I reenlisted. I am as patriotic as the best of the combat vets. I was angered when I read Mike Masterson’s Oct. 17 praise of the traitors who call themselves “Oath Keepers” and his snide remarks of the real oath keepers, many who died and many wounded in combat.

Masterson claims to be a journalist, but he is either ignorant of the Oath Keepers or a collaborator. In any case, not worth 2 cents as a journalist.

Google “Southern Poverty Law Center on Oath Keepers” and read the trash Oath Keepers founder, Elmer “Stewart” Rhodes, has to say:

“John McCain is a traitor to the Constitution. He should be tried for treason.”

“It is critical that all patriots who can be in D.C. get to D.C. to stand tall in support of President Trump’s fight to defeat the enemies foreign and domestic who are attempting a coup, through the massive voter fraud and related attacks on our Republic. We Oath Keepers are both honor-bound and eager to be there in strength to do our part.”

“I don’t trust the Pentagon, I don’t trust the brass. I don’t trust even the secretary of Defense.”

There is much more. Anyone who advocates overthrow of our duly-elected government is a domestic enemy. Furthermore, the Oath Keepers is a civilian militia, and such “militias” are illegal in every state, including Arkansas. However, these “militias” operate with impunity in Republican states. Anyone who spreads their anti-government rhetoric is aiding and abetting these domestic enemies.
