FAYETTEVIL­LE — Robert L. Kelley,

90 years of age, went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 23, 2021. He was born on August 18, 1931, to Ivan Kelley and Mary Elaine Thomas Kelley, in the town of Farmington, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by three daughters: Leona Leonard, Karen Bishop, and Brenda Martin; one son, Charles Cook; two sons-in-law: Joe Bishop and Leroy Martin; two sisters: Barbara Marie and Betty Lou; and one brother, Raymond Ivan Kelley.

Robert is survived by his wife, Virginia Kelley; daughter, Jennette Fant and husband Jim; daughter, Bridgette Freeman and husband Jarrod Freeman; son, Justin Fant; numerous grandchild­ren and great- grandchild­ren; three brothers: Richard Kelley, Ronald Rex, and Dennis Dale; three sisters: Beverly Ann, Bonnie Sue, and Diana Elaine; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an engineer and loved working with his hands. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow, Okla., where he praised the Lord with all he had. He enjoyed painting, gardening, and spending time with his family. Robert had a handshake that could warm your heart as well as a contagious laugh. Although he will be missed deeply by friends and family, there is comfort in knowing that he is with God.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Beard’s Chapel, with Chaplain Audie Long officiatin­g. Interment will follow in the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery with military honors, under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
