LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Lois Maxine Allred,

89, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Springdale, Ark., passed away Wednesday December 1, 2021, in Lakewood. She was born October 23, 1932, in Green Forest, Ark., to Olney and Virginia (Gibb) Rudd. She was a retired bank teller for First Security Bank, former volunteer with Springdale Memorial Hospital, and member of Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmothe­r. Her love of family, both immediate and extended, was the most important thing in her life. Her life’s greatest pleasure was providing a warm inviting home for her family and friends to spend time together. She was an excellent cook and seamstress making wonderful food that was enjoyed by so many over the years and making beautiful pieces of clothing and home decorating pieces. When she became a “Grammie” a whole new dimension of her love of family was opened and she loved her seven grandchild­ren and two great-grandchild­ren passionate­ly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband, Freeman Allred. She is survived by three children, Karen Allred Dennis and husband David of Lakewood, Colo., Keith Allred and wife Janice of Benton, Ark., Susan Allred Elliott and husband Sam of Frisco, Texas, seven grandchild­ren, and two great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be held on December 6, 2021, from 10 until 11 a.m., at Elmdale Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., at the church. A graveside service will be held at Pickens Cemetery in Green Forest, Ark., at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, New York, 10001.
