BENTONVILLE — William Maurice Easterling,
age 82, of Bentonville, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Apple Creek Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born March 30, 1939, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Deryle Fred Easterling and Louetta Swaney Easterling. He was a member of the Bentonville Church of Christ. He served in the United States Marine Corp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores Ann Easterling, two infant sons, Matthew and Mark Easterling, his grandson, Ethan Ray Easterling and his brother, Deryle (Freddy) Easterling, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Necessary and her husband Jeff of Bentonville; son, Jeff Easterling of Bentonville; one sister, Janis Mattison and her husband Harry of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Tommy Easterling and his wife Marie of Farmington, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Carol Miller of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Keisha Osthoff and her husband Bobby and Chad Musteen; and one great-grandchild, Rory Osthoff all of Bentonville. Also, leaving behind bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Maurice was an avid collector of many things including coins, knives, guns, Eagle statues among many other items. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, feeding birds, motorcycle riding, and eagle watching. He had a long career as a bank auditor for several banks throughout the state. Before his official retirement he spent ten years at Bekaert Corporation in Rogers, Ark.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday afternoon, December 5, at the Bentonville Church of Christ Lodge from 2-4 for friends and family to visit with the family and share memories of his life. There will be a private graveside service under the direction of Walton Hook, Bentonville Church of Christ and Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville on Monday, December 6.
