BOYS FAYETTEVIL­LE 64, HELIAS CATHOLIC 60

Fayettevil­le claimed third place in the Arvest Classic with a close victory Saturday over Helias Catholic at Springfiel­d Parkview.

The Bulldogs (4-2) gradually built upon an 11-8 first-quarter lead as they had a 25-19 halftime cushion and led 40-33 after three quarters.

Ornette Gaines led Fayettevil­le with 14 points, followed by Landon Glasper with 13 and Mason Simpson with 10.

The Bulldogs will travel Friday to Nixa, Mo., which beat Bentonvill­e West 67-63 in its season opener and handed the Wolverines their first loss of the season.

BERGMAN 78, WEST FORK 47

Walker Patton and Bryson Bauer scored 18 points apiece as Bergman won the Duel in the Dome championsh­ip with a victory Saturday over host West Fork.

The Panthers (14-2) led 44-28 at halftime, then outscored the Tigers 22-12 in the third quarter for a 66-40 cushion.

Kaden Henson and Kaden Ponder each contribute­d 10 points for Bergman.

BERRYVILLE 75, CARL JUNCTION, MO. 46

Berryville drilled a dozen 3-pointers, and the Bobcats blew past Carl Junction in the 61st annual Forsyth (Mo.) Tournament.

Berryville outscored Carl Junction 15-7 in the second quarter and turned a six-point lead into a 38-24 halftime cushion. The Bobcats continued the rout in the second half with a 61-40 cushion after three quarters.

Kade Davidson had five 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, while teammate Nate Allen also had five 3-pointers and had 21 for Berryville. Weston Teague chipped in 16 for the Bobcats.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 58, EARLE 37

The Wildcats finished the Hot Springs Tournament on a high note with a win Saturday against Earle.

Cameron Mains led the way for Har-Ber with 18 points. Keegan Lehman added 12 and Jermaine Tilford finished with 11.

Keshard Harris led Earle with 11 points.

BRYANT 56, ROGERS 46

Rogers was stymied by a slow first-half start and suffered a loss to Bryant during Saturday’s action in the Airedale Classic in Alma.

The Mounties trailed 12-7 after one quarter and 31-19 at halftime.

Alonzo Porchia had 16 points to lead Rogers, while Graycen Cash added 10.

FARMINGTON 76, FREEDOM PREP 42

The Cardinals moved to 8-0 on the season by winning the Chicksaw Classic on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Layne Taylor led the way for Farmington with 41 points. Over the three games in the tournament, Taylor averaged 40 points.

Mateo Carbonel added 6 points and 7 steals for the Cardinals and Caleb Blakely pull down 6 offensive rebounds.

SPRINGFIEL­D (MO.) KICKAPOO 74, FAYETTEVIL­LE 72

Fayettevil­le had a chance but couldn’t get a shot off before the final buzzer sounded Friday night as the Bulldogs fell short against Kickapoo during the Arvest Classic semifinals at Springfiel­d Parkview.

Fayettevil­le trailed 36-31 at halftime but closed the gap to 54-51 to start the fourth quarter. Kickapoo had the ball with 7 seconds left, then the Purple’Dogs ran out of time after they stole the ball.

Landon Glasper had 23 points to lead four Fayettevil­le players in double figures. Jadyn Haney was next in line with 16, followed by Ornette Gaines with 15 and Sawyer Keith with 12.

ELKINS 58, DOVER 32

Braedon Welch scored 22 points and Aiden Underdown 17 to lead Elkins past Dover in a non-conference game.

Elkins led 16-4 after one quarter and 30-10 at halftime. Wesley Dale scored 11 points to lead Dover.

Elkins will host Class 6A Springdale in another nonconfere­nce game on Tuesday.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 78, JOE T. ROBINSON 69

Cameron Mains scored a game-high 29 points as the Wildcats outscored Joe T. Robinson in the Hot Springs Tournament on Friday.

Mack Wright and Kase Chambless scored 11 points each for Har-Ber. Samuel Chapin scored 24 points to lead Robinson and Gavin Raath finished with 17.

BERGMAN 68, WALDRON 38

Waldron dropped a 30-point decision to Bergman at the Duel of the Dome in West Fork.

Jayden McConnell had 16 points for the Bulldogs (7-3). McConnell and Ethan Mayberry scored 11 points each in the Bulldogs’ 44-41 win over Prairie Grove earlier in the tournament.

ROGERS 54, ALMA 29

Rogers made the most of the late start to its season as the Mounties bolted out to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter and raced past Alma in the Airedale Classic.

Graycen Jones and Nick Quinn each had 12 points for Rogers, which led 32-15 at halftime and 45-22 at halftime. Hunter McAlister led Alma with 10 points.

GIRLS FARMINGTON 76, MARION 58

Farmington’s 20-8 run in the third quarter helped the Lady Cardinals pull away from Marion and capture the Hot Springs Invitation­al title.

Reese Shirey had 20 points to lead five players in double figures for Farmington, whose outburst turned a 42-34 halftime lead into a 62-42 cushion heading into the fourth quarter.

Carson Dillard was next for the Lady Cardinals with 18 points, followed by Megan Hernandez with 13 while Jenna Lawrence and Morgan Brye chipped in 10 apiece.

Farmington will be one of three area teams that will take part in the 25th annual Freeman-Lady Eagle Classic, which begins Thursday in Joplin, Mo. The Lady Cardinals will play at 3:30 p.m. against Leavenwort­h, Kan.

BERGMAN 62, BLUE EYE, MO. 50

Maddi Holt had 31 points as Bergman improved to 16-0 and captured the Blue Eye Tournament championsh­ip with a win over the host team.

Holt had 14 points in the fourth quarter, including a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line, and the Lady Panthers erased a one-point deficit by outscoring Blue Eye — ranked third among Missouri’s Class A schools — 21-8 over the final 8 minutes.

Kara Ponder added 14 points for Bergman.

FS NORTHSIDE 46, OLATHE (KAN.) WEST 38

Hatianna Releford had 20 points as Fort Smith Northside won the Hays County (Kan.) Shootout with a victory Saturday over Olathe West.

The Lady Bears led 13-7 after one quarter and 26-20 at halftime, then took a 34-26 cushion into the fourth quarter.

Erianna Gordon added 13 for Northside, which returns to action Thursday against El Reno, Okla., during the opening round of the Tournament of Champions at Southside’s new arena.

ROGERS 43, ATKINS 24

Rogers outscored Atkins 31-11 in the second half as the Lady Mounties closed out their portion of the Great 8 Classic with a win Saturday afternoon in Mountie Arena.

Rogers trailed 13-12 at halftime, but outscored Atkins 18-5 in the third quarter and took a 30-18 lead.

Ava Maner scored 10 points in the third quarter and had 23 to lead the Lady Mounties (2-4), while Katelynn Owens added all 11 of her points in the second half.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 70, WEBB CITY, MO. 31

Har-Ber erupted for 31 points in the third quarter and pulled away from Webb City during the third-place game in the Carthage (Mo.) Invitation­al.

The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 20-5 lead, but that was cut to 34-22 at halftime before their big third-quarter run. That gave Har-Ber a 65-29 cushion and forced the running clock.

Caylan Koons led the Lady Wildcats with 35 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

NETTLETON 58, ROGERS HERITAGE 35

Nettleton outscored Heritage 19-7 in the second quarter to take control and hand the Lady War Eagles their third straight loss during the Great 8 Classic.

The outburst helped the Lady Raiders turn a four-point deficit into a 28-20 halftime cushion, then Nettleton outscored Heritage 17-8 in the third quarter to pull away.

Briley Pena led the Lady Raiders with 19 points while Allyson Williams added 12. Carlee Casteel had 16 points for Heritage (5-3), while Lily Stitt added 12 on four 3-pointers.

BENTONVILL­E WEST 44, BOLIVAR, MO. 19

West stormed out to a 23-3 lead in the first quarter and cruised to an easy victory over Bolivar during the consolatio­n final of the Willard (Mo.) Invitation­al.

Nayanka Keita had eight points to lead the Lady Wolverines (4-3) as 11 of 13 players on their roster scored at least one point. Mack Anderson added six points and shined defensivel­y with six rebounds and four blocked shots.

West returns to action Thursday with a home game against McDonald County, Mo.

LAMAR 46, PEA RIDGE 38

Morgan Cochran had 18 points as Lamar defeated Pea Ridge and won the Golden Arrow Classic championsh­ip Saturday in Lavaca.

The Lady Warriors had a slim 22-20 halftime cushion, then outscored the Lady Blackhawks 15-9 in the third quarter to stretch their lead to a 37-29 margin.

Kory Sanders added 10 for Lamar. Leah Telgemeier had 10 to place Pea Ridge.

BLUE SPRINGS, MO. 70, HARRISON 46

Harrison was limited to 13 points in the second half as Blue Springs pulled away and won the third-place game during the Willard (Mo.) Invitation­al.

The Lady Goblins trailed 35-33 at halftime before their offense went cold. That allowed Blue Springs to go on a 20-8 run in the third quarter and blow the game open.

Clare Barger had 17 points, including eight of Harrison’s second-half points, while Reese Ricketts added 10 points.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK 61, OZARK, MO. 44

Je’miya Brown had four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points as North Little Rock swept the Orange Division in the Great 8 Classic with a win over Ozark in Mountie Arena.

The Lady Charging Wildcats led 12-10 after one quarter, then stretched it to 33-24 at halftime and 47-35 through three quarters.

Brown was the only player in double figures for North Little Rock, which returns to Northwest Arkansas this weekend for games against Fayettevil­le and Bentonvill­e.

LR CENTRAL 83, CAMDENTON, MO. 59

Little Rock Central tied a Great 8 Classic record for points scored in a single game, and the Lady Tigers won the Blue Division with a convincing victory over Camdenton in Mountie Arena.

Central matched the previous mark set by Ozark, Mo., in a 2019 game against Fort Smith Southside.

Jordan Marshall, who was named the division’s most valuable player, had 19 points for the Lady Tigers, who outscored Camdenton 27-11 in the second quarter for a 47-31 halftime cushion.

Kiaya Davis added 17 points, and Taylor Day-Davis chipped in 12 for Central.

BERGMAN 47, SPRINGFIEL­D GLENDALE 20

Bergman held Glendale to just nine points over the first three quarters and cruised into a semifinal victory in the Blue Eye (Mo.) Invitation­al.

The Lady Panthers led 14-4 after one quarter, 26-8 at halftime and 39-9 after three quarters to force the running clock.

Maddi Holt had 14 points and Ruby Trammell added 11 for Bergman, which opened the tournament with a 94-10 rout of Exeter, Mo. Holt and Trammell each had 21 points for the Lady Panthers in that game, while Kessa Willis added 14 and Kara Ponder 10.

MOUNT VERNON-ENOLA 53, MINERAL SPRINGS 41

Mount Vernon-Enola outscored Mineral Springs 18-10 in the second quarter to take the lead and went on to win during the Quitman Fastbreak Classic.

Hallie Miller had 15 points for Mineral Springs, which trailed 40-31 after three quarters, while Cayley Patrick added 12.
