BENTONVILL­E — Joe Edward Lindley,

87, of Bentonvill­e, died Friday, January 21, at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born December 6, 1934, in Slick, Okla., the son of Omega Chole Leamaster and Ernest Lindley.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed farming, fishing, reading, watching high school and college sports. He was retired U.S. Postal Service and a licensed funeral director.

Joe had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1960, after moving from San Francisco, Calif. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Centerton, and a current member of Lakeview Baptist Church, located in Cave Springs. He enjoyed life and served Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyce Lindley in 2010; the mother of his children, Evelyn J. Silva Lindley, in 1978; his parents, one grandson, Aaron Nelson; one brother, and two sisters.

Joe is survived by one son, Charles Lindley and his wife Lew Anne, of Cave Springs; two daughters: Toni Ferguson and her husband Jerry, of Springdale, Marquerite Karlos of Bentonvill­e; two stepsons: Mike Nelson of Rogers, Bill Nelson of Little Rock; one sister, Lyn Cantrell of Bentonvill­e; 12 grandchild­ren, and three great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be Thursday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, located in Cave Springs.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Baptist Church, located in Cave Springs. Interment will be 12:30 p.m. at National Cemetery, located in Fayettevil­le.

Memorials may be sent to the building fund at his church, Gideon’s Internatio­nal, or the donor’s choice.
