ELKINS — Glenda Ruth Drummond Short,

age 61, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on January 17, 2022.

Glenda was preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, John Ira and Mary Drummond; her paternal grandmothe­r, Eve Drummond; her father, Johnny Curtis Drummond; and one brother, Ronnie Drummond.

Glenda is survived by her mother, Rosemary Drummond of Elkins; two brothers David Drummond and Johnny Drummond, both of Elkins; her life-long partner and best friend of 34 years Jimmy A. Lackey, of the home; two sons, Thomas Short and his wife, Kenzie Short, of Springdale, and Eric Short of Utah; and one daughter, Latisha McGowan of Elkins. She was blessed with six grandchild­ren, Aleisha McGowan, Cameron Drummond, Atalie Short, Bella Short, Scarlet Short, and Sophie Short; two nephews, Jason Drummond and John Ira Drummond; three nieces, Mindy Drummond, Kristie Drummond, and Billie Jean Drummond, all of Elkins; and a host of family and friends that loved her.

Glenda worked outside of the home since she was 16, and enjoyed working in her flowers. She worked at the handle mill in Wesley for many years and was loved by her coworkers. She also helped her daughter, Latisha, gathering eggs on her farm. Glenda looked forward to summer vacations with her children at the lake every year. She loved cookouts and old westerns.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, at Beard’s Chapel with Randy Osburn officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Bidville Cemetery. Condolence­s at www.beardsfune­ralchapel.com
