SUN BELT UALR 4, TROY 3

Nathan Lyons ripped a two-out, two-run single to put the University of Arkansas at Little Rock ahead to stay during a comefrom-behind victory at Riddle-Pace Field in Troy, Ala.

Canyon McWilliams had three hits, while Lyons and Jack Stroth each finished with two RBI for UALR (12-12, 2-6 Sun Belt Conference), which was down 3-1 after six innings. Stroth’s home run in the seventh made it 3-2 before Lyons delivered in the ninth to give the Trojans the lead.

Chance Vaught picked up the win while Sawyer Smallwood got the save for UALR.

Trey Leonard had two hits to lead Troy (188, 5-3), which had its three-game winning streak stopped.

COASTAL CAROLINA 5, ARKANSAS STATE 4

A late-inning rally wasn’t enough to give Arkansas State (5-19, 0-8 Sun Belt Conference) its first league win of the season as it fell at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro.

The Red Wolves trailed 5-2 in the bottom of the ninth but got RBI singles from Daedrick Cail and Mickey Coyne to get within a run. ASU eventually loaded the bases with two outs, but Elliot Carney struck out Jared Toler to win it for Coastal Carolina (15-10-1, 4-3-1).

Graham Brown had two hits for the Chanticlee­rs, who clinched the series. Cail, Ben Klutts and Justin Medlin had two hits each for ASU. Klutts had a home run in the sixth inning as well.

ASUN NORTH ALABAMA 3, UCA 1

Peyton Thomas and Devne Daniel came up with a pair of clutch RBI singles in the seventh and eighth innings to help North Alabama (718, 2-6 ASUN Conference) beat the University of Central Arkansas at Florence, Ala., and snap a six-game losing streak.

Will Haberstock allowed 1 run and 5 hits and struck out 6 in 7 innings for the Lions, who were locked in a 1-1 tie until Thomas’ run-scoring hit in the seventh gave them the lead. North Alabama later tacked on another run in the the eighth when Daniel sent Austin Thrasher home on his hit.

Drew Sturgeon was 2 for 3 with an RBI for UCA (10-15, 4-3).

SWAC PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 12, UAPB 3

Dominic Cox blasted a three-run home run to spark a six-run sixth inning and propel Prairie View A&M (12-15, 5-3 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference) to a series-clinching victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex in Pine Bluff.

Four players had two hits apiece for the Panthers, who watched UAPB (6-16-1, 3-5) erase a 4-0 deficit by scoring three runs in the fifth inning to climb within 4-3. But Prairie View A&M extended its lead in the next innings, then added an insurance run in the ninth to win its third straight game.

Carlos Velez and Kacy Higgins both had two hits for the Golden Lions.
