PREP BASEBALL ROGERS 17, SPRINGDALE 2

Ty Frakes belted a grand slam to cap Rogers’ 11-run eruption in the third inning as the Mounties completed their series sweep at Springdale.

Bryson Scott’s two-run single put Springdale ahead 2-1 before Rogers exploded in the third. Kade Seldomridg­e, JT Melson and Josh Lawing each had an RBI single, then Rogers added runs with bases-loaded walks to Cooper Addison and Finley Bunch each drove in a run for a 6-2 lead.

Noah Goodshield drove in a run with a groundout, and Melson forced in another run when he was hit by a pitch. Frakes then belted his grand slam and made it a 12-2 game.

Rogers then added five more runs in the fourth as Goodshield finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Seldomridg­e and Melson each added two hits and drove in two runs apiece.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 8, BENTONVILL­E WEST 6

Kaleb Kellar raced home on a passed ball with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as Har-Ber held off West and completed a series sweep at the Wolverine Athletic Complex.

Kellar was hit by a pitch with one out in the seventh and later scored to break a 4-4 tie. Har-Ber (17-4, 7-1) added to that lead when Cooper Dossett walked and later scored on Clark Jenkins’ single, then Drue McClendon added a two-run single to give the Wildcats an 8-4 cushion.

West, however, pulled within 8-6 as Aaron Arnold hit an RBI single and Alex Downing drove in a run with a fielder’s choice. Ashton Greenlee, the third HarBer pitcher, then picked up a strikeout to end the game.

ROGERS HERITAGE 8-1, FS SOUTHSIDE 4-2

Michael Johannsen and Jack Hamm each had two hits and two RBIs as Heritage defeated Southside in the first game of a 6A-West doublehead­er at War Eagle Field.

Johannsen followed a sacrifice fly with a two-run single in the second inning and gave the War Eagles a 3-1 lead. Hamm then belted a two-run single in the third and made it a 5-1 game.

Southside pulled within 5-4 in the fourth on Zeb Allen’s RBI single and errors that allowed two runs to score, but Heritage answered with Quentin Edwards’ two-run double and Cole Richardson’s RBI single. Coleman MacRae threw a complete-game five-hitter and struck out 11 in a 112-pitch performanc­e.

Southside came back to win the second game as Ty Jones drove in a run and pitched 5.2 strong innings to pick up the victory.

Jones’ first-inning triple drove in Zeb Allen, who reached on a bunt single, and gave the Mavericks a 1-0 lead. Allen also scored Southside’s other run in the third when he doubled and came home on Braxton Waller’s double.

Heritage didn’t score until the sixth when Edwards doubled and scored on a single by Hamm. The War Eagles threatened again in the seventh with two runners on base before Bailey Mattingly picked up a strikeout to end the game and pick up the save.

PREP SOFTBALL ROGERS 7, ROGERS HERITAGE 0

Ella Beeman fired a one-hitter and the Lady Mounties blew the game open in the second inning to move into sole possession of second place in the 6A-West.

Beeman struck out 7 and did not walk a batter in a masterpiec­e in the circle for Rogers.

Sydney Smith delivered a big day at the plate, driving in three runs and Kadence Janney was 2-for-3.

FS SOUTHSIDE 12, SPRINGDALE 5

Hana Dingman had a huge day at the plate for the Lady Mavericks, belting a home run and double with four RBIs as Southside rolled to a 6A-West win.

Kylie Haas, Reese Robinson and Jazlin Lopez all had two hits for Southside.

Kaylee Harp was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs. Lauren Christy, Hadley James and Victoria Hennarichs all had two hits for Springdale.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 16, FAYETTEVIL­LE 5

The Lady Wildcats broke out the big bats Tuesday, slugging nine extra-base hits including three home runs in a romp over Fayettevil­le.

Brooke Beyer, Kylie Lynch Burris and Rylie Wolfe all homered for Har-Ber, and Beyer, Burris, Brianna Crowley, Madison Pratt and Illeana Sauls all had doubles. Sauls had two doubles.

Kouri Janssen was 2-for-3 with a homer and drove in a pair of runs, and Brooke Davis homered for the Lady Bulldogs.
