Har-Ber scored two runs in the first inning, while Ross Felder and Tyler Ridley made it stand as the Wildcats defeated Southside in 6A-West Conference action Thursday at Fort Smith.

Caden Ross accounted for Har-Ber’s first run as he was hit by a pitcher and later scored on an error. Austin Jones then made it 2-0 when he came home as part of a double steal, and Ross scored the Wildcats’ final run in the third when he singled and scored on a single by Ethan Fender.

Felder then held Southside to a hit through the first six innings. The Mavericks scored their run in the seventh when Ty Jones singled and came home on Bailey Mattlingly’s single, but Ridley entered the game and picked up the final two outs for the save.

ROGERS HERITAGE 12, GREENWOOD 0

Quentin Edwards and Spencer Mounce had two hits and drove in three runs apiece as Heritage rolled to a nonconference win over Greenwood at War Eagle Field.

The War Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, then blew the game open with six runs in the third. Mounce and Michael Johannsen each hit a two-run single, while Edwards belted a two-run triple in the outburst.

That was more than enough offense for pitcher Tyler Jouett, who held Greenwood to one hit over five innings. Jack Hamm, meanwhile, had a solo home run to start the fourth.
