BOYS FARMINGTON 4, BERRYVILLE 1

Mateo Carbonel had two goals to lead Farmington past Berryville.

Luis Zavala added a goal while Jorge Cervantes contribute­d a goal and an assist for the Cardinals, who improved to 8-13 overall and 6-1-1 in conference play. Farmington earned the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament and will play Monday, May 2 in a semifinal game.

GIRLS SHILOH CHRISTIAN 1, CLARKSVILL­E 0

Senior Regan West scored on an assist from freshman Bella Bonanno to lift Shiloh Christian past Clarksvill­e.

With the win, Shiloh Christian earned the regular-season championsh­ip in the 4A-1 Conference and a No. 1 seed for the conference tournament. Shiloh Christian will host a semifinal game at Champs Stadium on Monday, May 2.

PREP SOFTBALL BENTONVILL­E 18, FAYETTEVIL­LE 0

Kasey Wood allowed just one hit and struck out 11 to lead the Lady Tigers to a shutout win in 6A-West action on Tuesday.

Bentonvill­e (18-1, 11-0 6A-West) gave Wood all the run support she needed in the first, then out the game away with eight more runs in the second. Wood was the catalyst atop the order, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Ryann Sanders and Trista Peterson also homered for Bentonvill­e and Alleyna Rushing was 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBIs.

Tallulah Pascucci, Kadence Stafford and Amber Turner all belted doubles for the Lady Tigers.

Wood needed just 66 pitches to finish the game and walked one batter.

The win sets up a big road game for Bentonvill­e on Thursday at Rogers. The Lady Mounties are one game behind Bentonvill­e in the conference standings.

ROGERS 10, SPRINGDALE 1

The Lady Mounties took control with a six-run third inning and cruised to a big win at Springdale.

The game was scoreless until the third when Rogers (16-3, 10-1) got its offense cranked up.

Ella Beeman, Kadence Janney and Katelyn Young all belted doubles for Rogers.

Janney earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete-game with 18 strikeouts and allowing two hits.

ROGERS HERITAGE 11, FS SOUTHSIDE 4

The Lady War Eagles jumped out to a fast lead and never let off the gas in a 6A-West Conference win.

Heritage (14-11, 6-5) scored four runs in the first inning and three more in the second to take control.

Elle Riendeau and Anna Lee each blasted home runs, and Lee drove in three runs. Kyler Strickland was 3-for-4 for the Lady War Eagles.

Riendeau earned the complete-game win with four strikeouts.

Olivia Washington had two hits for the Lady Mavs (4-17, 3-8).

BENTONVILL­E WEST 14, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 2

The Lady Wolverines did not waste any time in building a big early lead in a runrule win Tuesday.

Olivia Thornton homered and drove in three runs for the Lady Wolverines (15-8, 8-3) to lead a 15-hit attack. The middle of West’s order combined for 11 of the Lady Wolverines’ 15 hits.

Stephanie Crittenden belted a pair of doubles and drove in three runs. Caroline Wilhelm, Laynee Tapp and Ciera Cravens all had three hits.

Shae Acosta homered for Har-Ber (5-6). Cravens earned the win in the circle, giving up 11 hits with four strikeouts.

PREP BASEBALL ROGERS 7, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 3

Ty Frakes and Gael Salinas each drove in a pair of runs as Rogers swept Har-Ber and clinched the outright 6A-West Conference title in Springdale.

Rogers (21-4, 12-0), which will be the 6A-West’s top seed for the Class 6A state tournament in Springdale, grabbed an early 2-0 lead on an RBI single by Eli Marcotte and a Har-Ber error. Frakes added an RBI single in the fourth, and Salinas followed with a two-run double to give the Mounties a 5-0 cushion.

That was all the offense Ty Anderson needed as the left-hander held Har-Ber (19-8, 8-4) to just two hits over 6.1 innings. Cooper Dossett hit a solo home run in the fourth, then the Wildcats added a pair of runs in the seventh on Matthew Petty’s sacrifice fly and a Rogers error.

BENTONVILL­E 12, SPRINGDALE 7 (8)

A hit batter with the bases loaded led to a five-run eighth inning for Bentonvill­e as the Tigers salvaged a split in their series with Springdale.

Pinch-runner JJ Spafford came home and scored the go-ahead run after Rowan Christense­n was hit by the pitch. Bentonvill­e (19-8, 5-7) added to its lead when Ethan Arnold belted a two-run double, then two more runs crossed the plate after Carter Nye’s fly ball was misplayed in the outfield.

The game needed an extra inning to be played after the Tigers tied it in the sixth as Tony Woodie’s double drove in Luke Crumpler, who singled to start the inning.

Connor Taylor and Nye had two hits apiece for Bentonvill­e, while Ethan Arnold had a team-high three RBIs. Yadi Canales had two hits, including a two-run home run in the fifth to give Springdale a 7-6 lead, and finished with four RBIs.

BENTONVILL­E WEST 9, FS SOUTHSIDE 2

Josh Wacaser’s double-play grounder allowed Ty Durham to score a tie-breaking run, then West broke the game open with six runs in the seventh to defeat Southside at Fort Smith.

The Wolverines (15-11, 4-7) loaded the bases in the fifth on singles by Durham and Hunter Guill and a walk to Cole Kitchens before Wacaser’s grounder. Wacaser and Landon Grigg had back-to-back RBI singles in the seventh, then West added a run on a passed ball before Ashton Yarbrough’s single allowed two more runs to score.

Durham, who recently returned to the lineup from an injury, had three of the Wolverines’ nine hits. Kitchens allowed two runs on three hits over five innings and picked up the victory for West, which trails Rogers Heritage and Bentonvill­e by one-half game and Southside by one game for third place in the 6A-West standings.

CONWAY 6, FS NORTHSIDE 5

Conway rallied with four runs in the sixth inning to defeat Northside in a 6A-Central Conference game at Fort Smith.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third on a fielder’s choice by Will Rollans, a Conway error that allowed a run to score and Jayden Darnell’s RBI single. Jayden Dilworth gave Northside a 5-1 cushion in the fourth when his single drove in a run, then he later scored on a passed ball.

Conway, however, scored a run in the fifth before taking its rally in the sixth, which was highlighte­d by Tucker Satterfiel­d’s two-run, inside-the-park home run.

Darnell finished with three of Northside’s six hits.
