BENTONVILL­E — Darrell Orville Weiland,

80, of Bentonvill­e passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born August 16, 1941, in Britt, Iowa, to the late Harold LeRoy and Dorothy Lucille Huff Weiland. Mr. Weiland was also preceded by a sister, Esta Reyerson.

Following graduation from high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. Darrell loved to fly! In his youth, he would wash airplanes for farmers in return for a ride in the plane! And, for more than 60 years he was a certified pilot for airplanes, helicopter­s, and hot-air balloons!

Darrell enjoyed an extensive career in corporate aviation, establishi­ng the aviation department for Winnebago, and flying for other companies before retiring after 19 years with Walmart. In retirement, he enjoyed piloting his hot-air balloon and giving tether rides for children in numerous schools across Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. He also enjoyed building street rods, riding Harleys, and conversati­ons with people wherever he went. Mr. Weiland was a member of NWA Rolling Relics car club and Quiet Birds of NWA - retired pilots club.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Jeanene Carlton Weiland; two daughters, Jacque Weiland of Centerton and Brenda Whitaker of California; two sons, Christophe­r (Carmen) Weiland and Douglas Weiland, all of Iowa; a stepdaught­er, Margo (Jeff) Wagner of Bentonvill­e; a stepson, Gregory Carlton of New York; a brother, Larry Weiland of Minnesota; six grandchild­ren; three great- grandchild­ren; numerous extended family members; associates and dear friends.

Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, with visitation beginning at 12 noon and his funeral service at 2 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonvill­e. Interment will follow in Bentonvill­e Cemetery. Memorials are suggested, in Darrell Weiland’s memory, to Balloon Federation of America’s Memorial Youth Camps, P.O. age 83, a resident of Springdale, Ark., passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at her home. She was born August 29, 1938, in Fayettevil­le, Arkansas, the daughter of Harley and Dorothy (Allred) Webb.

Billie enjoyed gardening, flowers, and most of all spending time with family and grand kids especially giving the great-grandson cookies. She retired from Arkansas public schools system after 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dwayne Webb.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Charles Ray Ledbetter; two daughters, Deborah Summers (Daniel) and Martha Gibson all of Springdale, Arkansas; two sisters, Sharon Enke (Paul) of St. Peters, Missouri, and Brenda Cunningham (Mark) of Farmington, Arkansas; one sisterin-law, Janie Webb of Dutch Mills, Arkansas; five grandchild­ren Justin Summers, Kaele Donaldson ( Caleb), Timothy Summers, Bethanie Ledbetter, and Emily Ledbetter and one great-grandson, Benjamin Donaldson.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2022, 6-7 p.m., at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Dutch Mills Cemetery. Online guest book: www.luginbuel.com .
