MORRILTON — Fannie Idell Camp Linn,

age 99, of Morrilton, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022. Fannie ( Idell) was born in Sheridan, Ark., the oldest of six children born to Marion Brad Camp and Ola Henslee Camp. She joined the U. S. Navy and served during WWII as a Navy Wave. Upon returning to Arkansas, she attended Arkansas Polytechnic College ( Arkansas Tech University) and earned her Bachelor of Education in 1949. While at college, she earned her private pilot’s license. She spent 34 years teaching a variety of subjects, mostly at Morrilton High School as the typing teacher. She was loved by her students who often thanked her later in life for teaching them a skill they used every day. Her greatest pride came from her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother and was loved and adored by her family.

Fannie was a wonderful cook, known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade bread, and pie crust, but most of her family avoided her scrambled eggs and requested canned biscuits instead of homemade. She also loved to sew, and many have been recipients of her home sewn gifts: quilts, table linens, bags, and crafts. She also made and donated hundreds of masks during the pandemic. Fannie was always the first to be ready to go. She would sit by the door with her purse in her lap, waiting on everyone else to be ready. She loved to travel and spent many winters later in life traveling to California with Mary Love and other friends. She always enjoyed the trip, the friendship, and the shopping. She also traveled on several international trips with friends and family. She visited her son and his family in France several times, and made trips to New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal. She enjoyed the wildflowers on her many trips to Colorado over the years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Conal Linn; and great-grandson, Connor Linn. Survivors include her four children: Keith ( Ruth) Linn, Kathy ( Terry) Sutterfield, Stephen ( Victoria) Linn, and Gary (Sandra) Linn, brother, Marion Lynn Camp, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation is at First United Methodist Church in Morrilton at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, with celebration of life services at 11:30. Burial is at 2:30, at Hardin Cemetery in Bee Branch, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Morrilton or Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
