age 69, of Fayettevil­le passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, in Springdale. She was born October 9, 1952, in Fresno, Calif., to Oscar and Winnie Bond McCleland.

She and her husband owned and operated the restaurant “Jerry’s Restaurant” on the corner of Dickson and College Avenue for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Evelyn Powell, Mary Craighead and Sharon Fernside; four brothers: Hank, Wayne, Roger, and Gary McCleland.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Jerry Lindsay of Fayettevil­le; three daughters, Dawnette Watts and her husband Willie of Farmington, Ark., Lora Lindsay of Fayettevil­le and Jeri Lynn Lindsay of Fayettevil­le; four sisters, Betty Heffner and her husband James of Cincinnati, Ark., Linda McCleland of Mountain Home, Margaret Collins and her husband Mike of Idabell, Okla. and Melba McCleland of Prairie Grove; one brother, James McCleland and his wife Darlene of Prairie Grove; eight grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren and many nieces and nephews. Her niece Cathy Stigall of Ocean City, Md., held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to thank Circle of Life Hospice for their kind and compassion­ate care of Doris in her final days of life.

Visitation will be 11 a. m. to 12: 30 p. m., July 6, 2022, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m., at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in Fayettevil­le National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
