94, of Springdale passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Countrysid­e Assisted Living, Huntsville. She was born Tuesday, March 6, 1928, at Fullerton, Calif., to Marcus DeLafayett­e and Mattie Mae Boyd Clark.

Dolores married William Dale Varner on Sunday, January 6, 1946, and together they were parents to three children. She was a bookkeeper by profession and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions, including President of the Relief Society both at the Stake and Ward levels. She enjoyed genealogy, spending time with her family, and actively volunteeri­ng in her community.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, William Varner; her parents, Marcus and Mattie Clark; one grandson, Jason Varner; and one sister, Dorothy Meeks.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Maria Varner, of California; two daughters and one son-inlaw, Laura and James Bailey, of Great Falls, Mont., and Mary Wallin of Tucson, Ariz.; two siblings, Conley Clark of Orange County, California, and Wanda Larson of Huntsville; 14 grandchild­ren; and many great-grandchild­ren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends 9 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Huntsville. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. with Bishop Dustan Clark officiatin­g. Pallbearer­s will be Rion Mosely, Marcus Varner, Clark Varner, Mark Varner, Thomas Bassey, and Shawn Sedrick. Interment will immediatel­y follow services at Huntsville Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
