82, of Sherwood, Ark., went to be with Jesus, Monday, September 12, 2022. Bob was born on February 5, 1940, in Tilton, Arkansas, to the late Rueben Fay and Hazel Baldwin Burns.

Bob attended school at Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, and excelled in basketball, especially shooting from outside. When he was just a young boy the Lord told Bob that he would attain the highest degree possible. When he graduated from high school Bob attended Southweste­rn Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. From there he attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. Bob received Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Bob had a very successful career in education as president of East Arkansas Community College located in Forrest City, Arkansas. He retired from EACC and seven years later got a call from Northwest Arkansas wanting him to found a community college there. Bob, being the educator, took the task of founding Northwest Community in Bentonvill­e, Arkansas, which is a very successful college today. Bob retired again after twelve years of service in Bentonvill­e and settled in Sherwood, Arkansas. While in that position, Bob had the privilege of meeting Sam Walton (founder of Walmart) and also the Governor of Arkansas at that time, as well as many people in higher education and business. Bob was raised in church and gave his heart to the Lord at an early age. He loved ministerin­g and teaching the Word of God and ministered with simplicity and revelation of the Word. He taught at Central Arkansas Bible College in Jacksonvil­le, Arkansas. Bob loved his church family at Faith Christian Center Church located in Jacksonvil­le, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Artis and one sister, EvaLou Creager.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Deloris L. (Turner) Burns of Sherwood, Arkansas, one sister, Mary Burns of Harrisburg, Arkansas, and many other relatives.
