7A-CENTRAL BRYANT 35, LITTLE ROCK SOUTHWEST 8

The No. 1 Hornets pitched a shutout for 40 minutes at Gryphon Stadium, cruising to a comfortabl­e victory at Little Rock Southwest to stay perfect on the season.

Bryant (6-0, 4-0 7A-Central) scored late in the first quarter with a 6-yard touchdown run by Chris Gannaway, then added two more scores in the second quarter — Mytorian Singleton hauled in a 56-yard pass from Jordan Walker and James Martin scampered in from 2 yards out. That put the Hornets up 21-0 at halftime and fully in cruise control.

The Gryphons scored in the fourth quarter on a 4- yard run by Jabron Lewis, but Southwest (1-6, 0-4) was outgained 240- 129 despite running more than twice as many plays as Bryant (52-25).

Walker finished his night 4- of- 5 passing for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns to go along with a 26-yard rush to lead the Hornets.

CABOT 49, LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL 13

CABOT — The Panthers needed less than a quarter and a half to grab a 35- 0 lead over the Tigers as they rolled to victory at Panther Stadium and maintained a share of first place in the 7A-Central conference.

Cabot (6-1, 4-0 7A-Central) scored all five of its first-half touchdowns on the ground, getting two apiece from Evion Jimmerson and Owen Horn. Jimmerson led the Panthers with 71 yards on eight carries, but five different players logged at least six carries and 31 yards for Cabot.

Little Rock Central ( 0- 7, 0- 4) got both its touchdowns from quarterbac­k Adrian Bing, who ran one in from a yard out and added another on a 25yard pass to Kaleb Flemming.

The Tigers were outgained 377-151.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK 28, JONESBORO 14

JONESBORO — North Little Rock’s 21-point second quarter helped secure its road victory over Jonesboro.

Following a scoreless first quarter, quarterbac­k Malachi Gober got North Little Rock ( 4- 3, 3- 1 7A- Central) on the scoreboard with a 42-yard pass to Roshaun Simmons.

Delkarai Davis recovered a Jonesboro (1-6, 0-4) fumble and returned it 78 yards to give the Charging Wildcats a 14-0 lead. Running back Javonte Harris scored from 5 yards out to make it 21-0.

Corey Henderson rushed 72 yards in the third quarter to give the Charging Wildcats their fourth touchdown as part of the team’s 258- yard rushing attack.

NLR cornerback Deimere Manuel had three intercepti­ons.

6A-EAST BENTON 63, JACKSONVIL­LE 18

BENTON — Benton extended its winning streak to five games with yet another conference win at Everett Field, running away from visiting Jacksonvil­le.

Jacksonvil­le (0-7, 0-6 6A-East) got the night’s first score, but Benton (5-2, 5-1) responded with two first-quarter touchdowns of its own to start the rout.

Panthers running back Braylen Russell ran for three touchdowns and caught another, totaling 174 yards on the night. Maddox Davis and Donovan Pearson also hauled in touchdown receptions for Benton.

NETTLETON 13, SOUTHSIDE BATESVILLE 12

BATESVILLE — Curtez Smith ran for two touchdowns including the ultimate game-winner in the fourth quarter to lead the Raiders ( 6- 1, 3- 1) to a key 6A-East road victory over the Southerner­s (4-3, 2-2).

Blayne Warden’s 35-yard pick-six return gave Nettleton a two-touchdown lead in the second quarter before Smith’s first TD closed the gap before halftime.

Louis Calhoun added a rushing touchdown for the Southerner­s.

SEARCY 57, GREENE COUNTY TECH 19

PARAGOULD — Searcy’s offense scored in double- figures in all four quarters to cruise past Greene County Tech.

Searcy (2-5, 2-4 6A-East) quarterbac­k Tyler Strickland rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another in the first half to give his team a 29-19 lead at halftime. He finished with 290 yards passing and five touchdowns.

Running back Dede Johnson Jr. helped extend the lead on the Golden Eagles ( 2- 5, 1- 5) in the second half with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. He ended the night with 240 yards on the ground and three touchdowns.

6A-WEST RUSSELLVIL­LE 41, GREENBRIER 28

GREENBRIER — Russellvil­le ran out to a 20-0 lead against Greenbrier before fending off a late comeback attempt to secure the road win.

Running back Tracy Daniels scored three touchdowns for the Cyclones (4-3, 4-2 6A-West), including the final score. Quarterbac­k DA Reed completed 10 of 15 passes for 120 yards and 1 touchdown.

Greenbrier’s (2-5, 1-4) Carter McElhany caught six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Quarterbac­k Kane Richardson passed for 148 yards, rushed for 107 more and scored 3 touchdowns.

5A-EAST FORREST CITY 20, PARAGOULD 6

FORREST CITY — Forrest City overcame a first-half 6-0 deficit against Paragould on its way to its first victory of the season.

The Rams (1-6, 0-4 5A-East) took that lead thanks to a 55-yard passing touchdown. The Mustangs (1-6, 1-3) replied with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Dalyn Washington to Roshawd Washington.

Willie Murphy returned a Paragould fumble near the goal line to the opposing 35-yard line and finished the ensuing drive with a 1- yard rushing touchdown.

Courtney Austin had rushes of 35, 15 and 1 yard to lead the Mustangs’ final scoring drive and make it 20-6.

WYNNE 23, BATESVILLE 10

WYNNE — With a grinding rushing attack, the Wynne Yellowjack­ets (5-2, 3-1 5A-East) handed Batesville (5-2, 3-1) its first conference loss.

After a scoreless first quarter, Batesville took a lead with a touchdown run by Hayden Huckaba and a field goal.

Allen Jones Jr. ran for a touchdown for Wynne in the second quarter.

From there, Wynne took control. John Watson ran 25 yards for a touchdown, and Allen Smith Jr. scored the two-point conversion.

Watson also scored on a 1- yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

5A-SOUTH CAMDEN FAIRVIEW 49, DE QUEEN 0

CAMDEN — Martavious Thomas had a very strong first half in the Cardinals’ 5A-South romp over the winless Leopards (0-7, 0-4), completing 16 of 22 passes for 252 yards and 4 scores.

Fairview (4-2, 3-0) totaled 477 yards of offense as Kenny Lanford ran 3 times for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. AJ Alsobrook caught 6 passes for 87 yards and 3 TDs and Trent Haggard added 4 receptions for 101 yards.

HOT SPRINGS LAKESIDE 41, HOPE 6

HOPE — The Rams picked up their first conference win of the season, keeping the Bobcats off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter at Foy Hammons Stadium.

Hot Springs Lakeside ( 1- 5, 1- 3 5A- South) led 17- 0 at halftime and the Rams continued to pour it on in the third and fourth quarters thanks to their defense, scoring on a pick-six intercepti­on return as well as a scoopand-score fumble return.

Tamorien Lindsey logged the only points of the night for Hope (1-6, 1-3), scoring on a 4-yard touchdown in the closing minutes.

5A-WEST HARRISON 63, ALMA 27

HARRISON — Harrison scored on all nine possession­s Friday while rolling to a 63-21 win over the Alma Airedales at Garrison Stadium.

Alma (5-2, 2-2 5A-West) pulled to within 28-21 with 11:02 to play in the third quarter when Joe Trusty threw a 55- yard touchdown pass to Israel Towns-Robinson.

But Harrison (4-3, 2-2) was just getting warmed up. Braden Long scored three third-quarter touchdowns to extend the lead to 49-21. Long scored on runs of 12, 41, and 7 yards.

The Goblins took a 7-0 lead on quarterbac­k Mason Ketterman’s 10- yard run with 9:39 left in the first quarter. Trusty then threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Carlos Gonzalez to pull Alma within 7-6.

Long’s first score of the night and a Ketterman pass to Talon Stephens for an 80-yard touchdown at the 7:02 mark of the second quarter made it 21-6 as Harrison never looked back.

4A-8 STAR CITY 42, DUMAS 14

STAR CITY — CJ Turner ran for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Star City (7-1, 5-1 4A-8) cruised to a victory over Dumas (1-6, 0-5).

The Bulldogs got off to a fast start, holding a 42-0 lead at the end of the first half. Kevin Johnson, Austin Wilkerson and Dax Humphries each had a rushing touchdown. Jamaal Hickman had an intercepti­on return for a touchdown.

WARREN 47, DEWITT 20

WARREN — Maddox Lassiter ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third to help Warren (6-1, 5-0 4A-8) stay perfect in conference play with a convincing win at home over DeWitt (4-3, 3-2).

Lassiter ran 61 yards for a touchdown to help Warren build a 20-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Lumberjack­s kept rolling in the second quarter on a drive set up by a long pass to the Warren 41-yard line from Lassiter to Jordan Green. Joseph Brown finished the drive with a 35-yard touchdown run. Lassiter also logged a 51-yard touchdown run, followed by Jose Jacinto’s successful PAT, to give the Lumberjack­s a 34-14 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Trey Marshall increased Warren’s lead with a 19-yard touchdown run. Green intercepte­d two DeWitt passes to keep Warren’s offense on the field.

Warren scored two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter with a 29-yard pass from Lassiter to Jarard Payne and a 6-yard rushing touchdown by Dylan Burks.

4A-7 ARKADELPHI­A 56, WALDRON 6

ARKADELPHI­A — Quarterbac­k Donovan Whitten threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead Arkadelphi­a (6-0, 3-0 4A-7) past Waldron (2-5, 0-3).

Whitten completed 13 of 17 passes for 283 yards and added 22 yards on the ground. Tripp Campbell finished with 4 catches for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. Carter Babb had 83 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Latonnieo Hughes had 70 yards and a touchdown.

NASHVILLE 28, ASHDOWN 20

ASHDOWN — Despite facing a 14-0 halftime deficit away from home, the Scrappers came back to knock off the Panthers at Dick Hays Stadium.

Nashville (5-2, 2-1 4A-7) was led by dual-threat quarterbac­k Sloan Perrin, who ran 15 times for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns while also completing 7 of 17 passes for 36 yards. Tre Hopkins joined Perrin in the ground game, running 13 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, while Alex Mendiola added a 40-yard rushing score.

Ashdown ( 5- 2, 1- 2) has now lost back-to-back games after winning five straight to start its season.

4A-4 CLINTON 63, CENTRAL ARK. CHRISTIAN 45

CLINTON — Zane Widner accounted for six touchdowns and 200 total yards to push the Yellowjack­ets (6-1, 4-1) past the upset-minded Mustangs (1-7, 1-5).

Widner ran for five scores and added a TD reception late to set the final score after CAC had fought to within 47-45 in the fourth quarter. Joey Hicks’ fumble recovery for a touchdown with seven minutes to play provided the Yellowjack­ets with breathing room at 54-45 before Widner sealed the win.

Quarterbac­k Grayson Wilson threw for 292 yards and 4 scores for the Mustangs, while CAC freshman Jacob Henry had 7 receptions for 166 yards and 5 TDs.

POTTSVILLE 27, LAMAR 21

LAMAR — The Apaches (3-4, 3-2) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally past the previously unbeaten Warriors (5-1, 4-1) in 4A-4 conference play.

Pottsville trailed 14-7 at the half and 21-13 after three quarters.

4A-3 JONESBORO WESTSIDE 35, HARRISBURG 15

HARRISBURG — The Warriors (2-5, 1-3) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away and notch a 4A-3 conference win over the Hornets (2-5, 3-2).

Eastin Gray accounted for both of Harrisburg’s scores.

4A-2 STUTTGART 35, CAVE CITY 7

STUTTGART — Cedric Hawkins turned in touchdown runs of 15, 41 and 22 yards as the Ricebirds ( 4- 2, 2-1) cruised to a 4A-2 conference win over the Cavemen (1-7, 1-3).

Hawkins ran 8 times for 142 yards and those 3 scores as Stuttgart built a 35-0 halftime lead. Deontae Clark ran 10 times for 83 yards and a score, and Jack Hosman added a 37-yard touchdown pass to Kendric Hawkins.

3A-4 BISMARCK 42, MAGNET COVE 7

MAGNET COVE — On the strength of five touchdown passes, Bismarck (3-3, 2-1 3A-4) notched an assertive conference road victory.

Bismarck’s first score was on the ground, a 1-yard touchdown run followed by a 35-yard touchdown pass that gave the Lions a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Touchdown passes of 30, 14 and 8 yards added 21 points to put the Lions ahead 35-0 at halftime.

Bismarck added one more score in the third quarter on a 47-yard touchdown pass.

Magnet Cove’s (3-4, 1-2) only score came in the second quarter on a 35yard touchdown pass to Ben Welch.

3A-3 HOXIE 42, PIGGOTT 0

HOXIE — Sage Treadwell completed 8 of 9 passes for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Hoxie ( 5- 2, 3- 0 3A-3) remain unbeaten in conference play with a victory over winless Piggott (0-8, 0-4).

Camden Brooks opened Hoxie’s scoring by running 2 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The Mustangs widened its lead to 14-0 with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Treadwell to Kaden Glenn.

In the second quarter, Brooks scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

Treadwell completed touchdown passes of 30 and 16 yards to Carson Cooper and Ty Gramling, respective­ly. Prechton Wilkerson scored on a 4-yard run.

MANILA 54, PALESTINE-WHEATLEY 30

MANILA — Jacob Baugher rushed for 109 yards on 4 carries and Mason Mullen carried 9 times for 84 yards to help Manila (3-4, 3-0 3A-3) remain unbeaten in conference play with a home victory over winless Palestine-Wheatley (0-7, 0-4).

Eli Lakey contribute­d to a 22-point first quarter for Manila with a 4-yard run, followed by Mullen’s successful two-point conversion.

Manila added 25 points in the second quarter that came on runs of 1 yard by Mullen, 5 yards by Landon Massey, 10 yards by Drake Morris and 6 yards by Kaiden Tipton.

Brian Beane scored Manila’s final touchdown with a 1- yard run in the third quarter.

WALNUT RIDGE 26, CORNING 20

WALNUT RIDGE — Walker Ward and Logan Sain each had two touchdown runs as Walnut Ridge (6-1, 3-1) held off Corning (1-7, 0-4) in a 3A-3 conference battle of Bobcats.

Ward’s scoring runs came from 10 and 46 yards, while Sain added a pair of 1-yard TD dives for the host Bobcats.

Landon Lucas had touchdown runs of 8 and 11 yards for Corning, the last one with 7:06 to play.

3A-2 MELBOURNE 58, PERRYVILLE 20

MELBOURNE — The Bearkatz (7-0, 3-0) broke open a close game and remained undefeated with 24 second-quarter points in a 3A-2 conference win over the Mustangs (4-3, 2-1).

Melbourne recovered a second-quarter onside kick after tying the game at 7-7. The Bearkatz would then score and never relinquish the lead.

2A-4 CARLISLE 47, HAMPTON 0

CARLISLE — Jason Sullivan ran for 203 yards and 4 touchdowns on just 10 carries as the host Bison (6-0, 4-0) coasted to a 2A-4 conference win over the Bulldogs (3-4, 2-2).

Sullivan’s TD runs came from 2, 14, 30 and 73 yards. Devin Cooney and Gabe Boyle added touchdowns for the Bison.
