BRANNON MOUNTAIN — William Walter “Demi” Osburn,

-

age 95, of Brannon Mountain passed away peacefully October 23, 2022 at his home on Brannon Mountain with his son by his side.

He was born July 19, 1927, to Jess and Eva Evans Osburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maggie Creech Osburn; his sisters, Velma Baker, Wilma Baker, Berniece Isley and Rema Moore; brothers, Edgar Osburn, James Osburn, and Carl Osburn.

Dad worked hard all his life and loved it. He was wellknown for his garden and worked hard at whatever he did. He never went into debt to build chicken houses, like most did in the community. Instead he raised hogs and grew crops like tomatoes and potatoes which he worked with mules and horses, no tractors. He had a heart of gold and loved to help people, he was heartbroken by those who borrowed money and never repaid it but never lost faith in God, and was thankful for his many blessings.

He attended Brannon Mountain Community Church for many years. He will be missed but left behind many special memories.

Special thanks to Billy Baker and Jimmy and Juanita Drain, who visited Dad many times when he was not able to be up and about.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Laird (Jessie) of Huntsville, Ark.; three sons, Bobby ( Carlos) and Daryl Osburn of Brannon Mountain, and Jeff (Jolene) of Winslow; two sisters, Peggy Drummon of Elkins and Willadean Drummond of Elkins; one brother, Lloyd “Sonny” Osburn of Hazel Valley; and 35 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday October 27, 2022, at Moore’s Chapel. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Brannon Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brannon Mountain Cemetery, 15382 Brannon Mountain Road, Fayetteville, Ark., 72701. To place an online tribute, please v is it www.bitwww.bernafuneralhomes.com
