FAYETTEVIL­LE — Eva Mae Bonanno,

age 80, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed from this life Monday, October 31, 2022. She was born September 23, 1942, in Saginaw, Mich., a daughter of the late Edward Buza and Fern Michel Buza.

Eva was united in marriage to Joseph Bonanno on May 1, 1971, in Saginaw, Mich. Together the couple were blessed with two children, A.J. and Nicole. They made their home in Livonia, Mich., until moving to Lucas, Texas, in 1979. In 2000, together they built their dream home and moved into Plano, Texas.

She was devoted to being a stay-at-home mom when her kids were young, taking care of her family’s every need. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, bird watching, volunteeri­ng, and attending every home Dallas Cowboys game while living in Texas. She loved to bowl and was a member of a weekday women’s bowling league along with spending Friday nights bowling with her husband at Plano Super Bowl.

In 1996, she began running their family Mail Center business in downtown Plano, Texas, until suffering a stroke in 2005.

In 2015, after surviving multiple strokes, she and her husband moved to Fayettevil­le, Ark., to live with their son A.J. and his family for additional family assistance, care, and support. She loved being a grandma and cherished the time spent with h er children and grandchild­ren.

She enjoyed going to a Senior Health and Wellness Center every day to meet up with her friends and to play games. She loved coming home to show her granddaugh­ters the crafts she made and the prizes she won playing Bingo.

Eva is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph William Bonanno of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; her son, A.J. (Denise) Bonanno of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; a daughter, Nicole Bonanno of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandchild­ren, Ema Djukic, Caden Carelock, Brooklynn Bonanno, Bella Bonanno, Bristol Bonanno; her sisters, Marie Masud of Frankenmut­h, Mich., Joan Voigt of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a brother, Michael (Annette) Buza of Swartz Creek, Mich., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents; brother-inlaw, Dr. Khan Masud.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayettevil­le. Burial is in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, at Nelson Berna. In lieu of flowers,
