HENDERSON STATE 51, OKLAHOMA BAPTIST 24

Henderson State tuned up for next week’s Battle of the Ravine by sinking Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday. Andrew Edwards finished with 338 yards of total offense and had a hand in three touchdowns as the Reddies blew past the Bison at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium in Arkadelphi­a. The victory was the fourth in a row for Henderson State (8-2, 8-2 Great American Conference), which led 24-10 at halftime but had a fairly easy time sending Oklahoma Baptist (1-9, 1-9) to a seventh consecutiv­e loss. The blowout also sets the Reddies up for a showdown with crosstown foe, Ouachita Baptist on Nov. 12, in the team’s annual rivalry game. Edwards was 17 of 20 for 268 yards with 2 touchdowns and ran 8 times for 70 yards and 1 score for Henderson State. Korien Burrell rushed 18 times for 122 yards with 2 touchdowns, and Xavier Malone caught 7 passes for 189 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter that pushed the Reddies’ lead to 37-17. The Bison got 72 yards rushing and a touchdown from Buddy Bizzell. Thomas Meadough and Nate Anderson also had scores.

OUACHITA BAPTIST 40, SE OKLAHOMA STATE 18

T.J. Cole ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns to steer Ouachita Baptist (10-0, 10-0), which rallied from a 10-0 first-quarter deficit at Paul Laird Field in Durant, Okla. Riley Harms threw for 186 yards, with both of his scoring strikes going to Connor Flannigan. The Tigers led 19-18 at halftime, but a 27-yard touchdown pass from Cole to Justin Dean and a 39-yard scoring toss from Harms to Flannigan allowed OBU to open up a comfortabl­e lead and pull away. Daulton Hatley was 20-of-25 passing for 316 yards and 2 touchdown for Southeaste­rn Oklahoma State (6-4, 6-4), but he was sacked five times. Marquis Gray had 6 catches for 170 yards and caught both of Hatley’s touchdown passes.

HARDING 37, SW OKLAHOMA STATE 29

A 29-yard touchdown run from Jhalen Spicer with 5:58 remaining in the game put Harding (8-2, 8-2) ahead for good in its eight-point victory at Milam Stadium in Weatherfor­d, Okla. Spicer had 108 yards rushing and scored twice for the Bisons, who trailed 23-21 before the sophomore’s go-ahead touchdown. Blake Delacruz, who finished with 82 yards on 18 carries, added a 1-yard score with 2:33 to go in the game to pad the win. Harding completed only one pass in the game but had 385 yards on the ground. Tylan Morton was 19 of 38 for 161 yards and 1 touchdown for Southweste­rn Oklahoma State (3-7, 3-7), which dropped its fifth straight game. Morton also had 81 yards rushing and a score.

ARKANSAS TECH 45, NW OKLAHOMA STATE 20

Devontae Dean inched closer to the 1,000-yard rushing mark after carrying 20 times for 101 yards in a rout for Arkansas Tech (5-5, 5-5) at Ranger Field in Alva, Okla. The senior running back, who also scored two touchdowns, needs 172 yards in the Wonder Boys’ regular-season finale against Harding to reach 1,000 for the year. Jordan Edington and Taye Gatewood added rushing scores, and Jack Grissom threw a touchdown pass to Mason Ross for Arkansas Tech, which held a 24-14 lead at halftime. Ethan Everson passed for 206 yards and two touchdowns for Northweste­rn Oklahoma State (1-9, 1-9), losers of four consecutiv­e games. Darian Gill had 91 yards rushing and scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter.

EAST CENTRAL (OKLA.) 16, ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 0

Alex Lopez drilled three field goals, and Jawan King added a 15-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to lift East Central (Okla.) (7-3, 7-3) to a shutout victory at Koi Ishto Stadium in Ada, Okla. Kenny Hrncir had 143 yards total, and Miles Davis ended with 88 yards rushing for the Tigers, who beat UAM (3-7, 3-7) for the third time in their last four matchups. East Central (Okla.) also intercepte­d Boll Weevil quarterbac­k Edwin Kleinpeter twice and sacked him four times. Kleinpeter went 11 of 25 for 59 yards for UAM, which lost its sixth consecutiv­e game. Greg Hooks had two intercepti­ons while Demarous White tallied 12 tackles.

SOUTHERN NAZARENE 49, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 44

Gage Porter scored the game-winning 3-yard touchdown with seven seconds left to enable Southern Nazarene (4-6, 4-6) to escape at Wilkins Stadium in Magnolia. The score was the fourth touchdown run of the game for Porter, who ran 31 times for 149 yards. He also threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Donavaughn Hill in the first quarter of a game that featured seven lead changes. Angel Ramirez ran 7 times for 110 yards and 1 touchdown, and Aaron Fellows followed with 6 carries for 99 yards and a score. In all, the Crimson Storm had 405 yards rushing. Jariq Scales had 175 yards on 18 rushes and 2 touchdowns for SAU (4-6, 4-6), which was down 21-17 at halftime but led 44-43 with 1:00 left in the game after O.B. Jones’ 19-yard scoring pass to Cole Williams. Kadyn Roach ran 17 times for 114 yards with a touchdown, and Jones connected on 10 of his 16 passes for 281 yards and 2 touchdowns.
