Jacob Wood’s 21-yard touchdown pass to Kanyn Utley early in the second quarter was the only scoring Hendrix College (3-6, 2-4 Southern Athletic Associatio­n) would need to beat Rhodes (Tenn.) (4-5, 2-3) on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The Warriors amassed 380 yards of total offense, with 209 yards passing and 171 more rushing. Wood finished 20-of-32 passing with the lone touchdown pass and an intercepti­on.

KANSAS WESLEYAN 67, ARKANSAS BAPTIST 10

Eight different players scored touchdowns to send Kansas Wesleyan (8-2) to an easy victory in Salina, Kan.

Tyler Boston carried 7 times for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Coyotes, who built a 35-0 halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way. Nicholas Allsman and Tony White had 63 and 62 yards rushing, respective­ly, while scoring a touchdown each for Kansas Wesleyan, which got 238 of its 447 yards of offense on the ground.

The Coyotes also held Arkansas Baptist (4-7) to 109 yards, including 8 yards rushing. The Buffaloes fumbled twice, one of which Garcia returned for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Arkansas Baptist, which recorded a safety in the third quarter, did get a 32yard touchdown from Ohrt Fischer to Calvin Mitchell with 1:03 left in the game to avoid being kept out of the end zone.

LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN 50, LYON 3

Sal Palermo III ran 10 times for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns for Louisiana

Christian (5-4, 4-3 Sooner Athletic), which scored the final 29 points to whip Lyon (1-8, 0-8) at Wildcat Field in Pineville, La.

Palermo scored on runs of 1, 15 and 19 yards for the Wildcats, who led 31-3 at halftime. The junior quarterbac­k also finished with 137 yards passing and tossed touchdown passes to Canaan Leon and Micah Dunn, both in the second quarter.

Kevin Kargozar’s 25-yard field goal with 7:08 to go before halftime supplied Lyon with its only points of the game.
