HUNTSVILLE 44, MONETT, MO. 41

Mason Davidson drilled a three-pointer as time expired, and Huntsville advanced to the Neosho (Mo.) Holiday Classic final for the first time with a win Thursday afternoon over Monett.

The Eagles (8-5) led 35-27 to start the fourth quarter, but Monett rallied and took a 37- 35 lead with 5: 17 remaining. Davidson, who tied the game at 37-37 with two free throws and at 39 with a jumper, hit another jumper to give Huntsville a 41-39 lead, but Monett tied it with 12 seconds left before his big shot.

Davidson finished with 24 points and was the only player in double figures for the Eagles, who will play at 5 p.m. today in the Black Division championsh­ip against Oklahoma City Crooked Oak, a 77-49 winner over host Neosho in the other semifinal.

CAPITAL CITY (MO.) 56, ROGERS 52

Capital City High School of Jefferson City, Mo., jumped to a 17-4 lead after a quarter and held on for the win against Rogers on Thursday.

Skye Davenport led the Mounties (5-6) with 16 points, while Aidan Chronister and Graycen Cash added 10 each. Rogers trailed 46-32 after three quarters.

THE NEW SCHOOL 52, MIDDLE COLLEGE 37

The Cougars improved to 22-1 and claimed the Maverick Division championsh­ip of the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitation­al on Thursday.

Middle College led 15-12 at halftime.

CYPRESS FALLS, TEXAS 45, BENTONVILL­E 36

Bentonvill­e struggled with its shooting and suffered a semifinal loss to Cypress Falls during the Gold Division play in the Neosho Holiday Classic.

The Tigers (10-3) hit only 11 of 42 shots, including 2 of 16 from threepoint range, and never had the lead. Cypress Falls (13-5) led 17-9 after one quarter and 30-21 at halftime before Bentonvill­e pulled within 34-28 to end the third quarter.

Aden Waller had 10 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Tigers, who will play in a third-place game at 1:30 p.m. today against Van Buren. Joseph Tugler had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Cypress Falls.

LIBERTY, OHIO 62, FAYETTEVIL­LE 58

The Bulldogs almost pulled off a stunning fourth-quarter comeback in the championsh­ip game of the Innisfree Hotels Beach Tournament in Pensacola Fla., on Thursday.

Fayettevil­le trailed 47- 31 entering the final quarter and almost matched its scoring output from the three previous quarters combined. The Bulldogs scored 27 points in the final quarter including three three-pointers, but came up just short.

Cooper Williams and Quenci Bradford scored 12 points each for Fayettevil­le and Ornette Gaines finished with 10.

LEAD HILL 72, MOUNTAIN HOME CHRISTIAN ACAD. 60

Mason Cain and Jayce Williams each had a double-double and led Lead Hill to a win in the ASU-Mountain Home/ Arvest Winter Jam at Yellville-Summit.

Cain finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Williams had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers (9-18), who outscored their opponent 19-11 in the third quarter and stretched a threepoint halftime lead into a 52-41 cushion.

Quintin Sewell had a game-high 19 points for Lead Hill, while Kaden Baker added 11. Jordan Wells had 26 for Mountain Home Christian Academy.

BERRYVILLE 56, POCAHONTAS 34

Nate Allen hit six three-pointers and finished with 20 points as Berryville defeated Pocahontas during Thursday’s consolatio­n play of the 13th annual CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament in Bobcat Arena.

Allen hit five shots from beyond the arc in the first half and helped the Bobcats (12-4) build a 29-16 halftime cushion. Berryville then went on a 17-7 run in the third quarter and stretched its lead to a 46-23 margin.

Jake Wilson added 18 points and D.J. Colbert 11 for the Bobcats.

THE NEW SCHOOL 53, IZARD COUNTY 38

The Cougars advanced to the championsh­ip game of the Bad Boy Mower Ronnie Brogdon Invitation­al thanks to a nice second-half surge on Wednesday night.

Trailing by one with less than a minute left in the third quarter, The New School hit back-to-back three-pointers in the final minute to grab the lead and went on to the 53-38 win over Izard County Consolidat­ed.

The Cougars (21-1) were led by Will Sturner’s 16 points. Evan Goldman and Quintus McNeal added 10 each.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. 58, ROGERS 48

Jefferson City outscored the Mounties 16-8 in the third quarter and went on to the victory.

Rogers trailed 27-22 at halftime, but Jefferson City pushed the lead to 43-30 after three quarters.

Skye Davenport led Rogers with 10, while Graycen Cash finished with 10 points and Soren Hoyord added nine.

HARRISON 73, EARLE 44

Harrison claimed a 22-6 lead after one quarter of play and went on to defeat Earle to close out Wednesday’s action during the Lendel Thomas Classic in Goblin Arena.

Blake Shrum had 20 points to lead a trio of players in double figures for the Goblins (8-5), who led 38-17 at halftime and 61-31 after three quarters. Kason Hilligoss was next with 11 while William Scribner added 10.

Joseph McVay had 13 points and Dexter Smith 10 to pace Earle.

DUMAS 65, PRAIRIE GROVE 33

Dumas outscored Prairie Grove 23-8 in the second quarter and pulled away for a win in the Lendel Thomas Classic.

The outburst helped the Bobcats turn a six-point lead into a 37-16 halftime cushion, then Dumas extended that to a 56-25 margin after three quarters.

Austin Henry led the Tigers (5-6) with six points. Tommy Reddick led Dumas with 16 points, followed by Mike Reddick and Raylen Spratt with 13 each.

FORDYCE 50, BERRYVILLE 49

Fordyce outscored Berryville 17-9 in the fourth to come from behind and defeat the Bobcats during the 13th annual CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament in Bobcat Arena.

Berryville (11-4) trailed 25-24 at halftime but outscored Fordyce 16-8 in the third quarter for a 40-33 lead before the Redbugs made their comeback.

Jake Wilson had 28 points and Nate Allen 12 for the Bobcats, who had two players foul out.

BAKERSFIEL­D, MO. 86, LEAD HILL 58

Lead Hill faced a 22-8 deficit after one quarter and never recovered as the Tigers lost to Bakersfiel­d during the ASU- Mountain Home/ Arvest Winter Jam at Yellville-Summit.

Jayce Williams had 18 points for Lead Hill, which trailed 45-30 at halftime and 67-46 after three quarters, while Mason Cain added 12 and Kaden Baker 10.

GIRLS

FARMINGTON 51, PARAGOULD 46

Farmington put together a third-quarter comeback to defeat Paragould and win the Ultimate Auto Group Tournament title in Mountain Home.

The Lady Cardinals (16-1) had only five points in the second quarter and trailed 25-16 at halftime, but went on a 23-9 run in the third quarter to take a 39-34 lead.

Jenna Lawrence had 27 points and was the only player in double figures for Farmington, which resumes 4A-1 Conference play Tuesday at home against Prairie Grove.

ROGERS HERITAGE 64, LEBANON, TENN. 49

Carlee Casteel poured in 28 points, including four three-pointers, to lead three Lady War Eagles in double figures in the Innisfree Hotels Beach basketball tournament in Pensacola, Fla.

Ruthie McCain added 15 and Sophie Sarratt 13 for the Lady War Eagles.

Heritage (11-4) finished 2-1 in the tournament. Casteel, McCain and Sarratt were all named to the all-tournament team.

BENTONVILL­E 72, DARDANELLE 33

Bentonvill­e went on a 20- 7 run in the second quarter to pull away from Dardanelle and claim third place in the Gravette Christmas Classic.

The outburst allowed the Lady Tigers (12-4) to stretch out a six-point lead into a 31-12 halftime margin, and Bentonvill­e went on to enjoy a 53-28 lead after three quarters.

Abbey Kate Sanders had 17 points to lead a trio of players in double figures for Bentonvill­e, which will travel to Fort Smith Southside for its makeup 6A-West Conference game Wednesday. Ella Campbell was next with 16, while Olivia Rustad added 14.

Karlie Cursh had 10 for Dardanelle (6-5).

HEBER SPRINGS 56, BERRYVILLE 55

Heber Springs outscored Berryville 11-10 in the second quarter, and that proved to be the difference during Thursday’s semifinal game at 13th annual CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament in Bobcat Arena.

That allowed the Lady Panthers to take a 32-31 halftime lead. Both teams then scored 12 points in the third quarter and 12 more in the fourth.

Hannah Youngblood had 25 for the host Lady Bobcats ( 4- 5), while Mia Thurman had 10. Jaylea Hooten led Heber Springs with 18, followed by Sophie Stone with 14.

HIGHLAND 58, HARRISON 38

Harrison suffered a slow start offensivel­y and never recovered as the Lady Goblins fell to Highland during the Lendel Thomas Classic in Goblin Arena.

Highland led 11-5 after one quarter, then extended it to 27-12 at halftime and 39-25 after three quarters.

Clare Barger had 14 points and Brooklyn Mitchell 11, all in the second half, for Harrison. Sadie Meyer had 17 points for Highland, followed by Emma Hyslip with 15 on five three-pointers and Harlee Deloach with 11.

PRAIRIE GROVE 48, MANILA 38

Lexie Henry hit a trio of three-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 18 points to lead Prairie Grove past Manila during the Lendel Thomas Classic.

The Lady Tigers went on a 16-7 run in the second quarter and turned a three-point deficit into a 26-20 halftime lead. Prairie Grove led 32-26 after three quarters before Henry helped the Lady Tigers secure the win.

Ella Faulk added 13 for Prairie Grove, while Madison Hitchcock had 19 to pace Manila.

VAN BUREN 40, STOUTLAND, MO. 24

Van Buren limited Stoutland to a single field goal in the first and third quarters and claimed a win Thursday at the Neosho Holiday Classic.

The Lady Pointers ( 8- 6) claimed a 12- 3 lead in the first quarter, then pulled away with an 11- 2 run in the third quarter after Stoutland had cut it to 18-11 at halfitme.

Holly Ming led Van Buren with 14 points. Raegen Henry and Cadence Chaffin each had nine points for Stoutland.

BERRYVILLE 51, MONTICELLO 42

Berryville regrouped in the second half after losing an early lead and defeated Monticello during Wednesday’s opening round of the 13th annual CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament in Bobcat Arena.

The Lady Bobcats (4-4) owned an early 17- 8 lead but trailed 27- 26 at halftime. Berryville, however, outscored Monticello ( 0- 8) 11- 7 in the third quarter to regain a 37- 34 advantage.

Hannah Youngblood had 21 points to lead Berryville while Taelor Tomlinson added 11. Genesis Freeman had 14 for Monticello, followed by Aunesti Jackson with 12.

LIFE WAY CHRISTIAN 34, JAY, OKLA. 32

Life Way held off Jay in the fourth quarter enough to take a consolatio­n victory Wednesday during the Gravette Christmas Classic.

The Lady Warriors (9-7) trailed 19-17 at halftime but limited Jay to just four third-quarter points and took a 25-23 lead.

Halle Moseley led Life Way with 14 points and was the only player in double figures.

GENTRY 65, CASSVILLE 20

The Lady Pioneers rolled to a 44-12 halftime lead and cruised to the win on Thursday.

Alyssa McCarty led Gentry with 19 points, including three three-pointers. Reese Hestee added 15 points on five three-pointers.

GENTRY 58, SOUTHWEST 27

The Lady Pioneers led 27-4 after a quarter and rolled to the big win.

Shelby Still led Gentry with 20 points, while Kaitlyn Caswell and Alyssa McCarty added 11 points each.
