CONSTANTIN­E, Mich. — Sherrin Klacsan,

80, Constantin­e, Mich., died at 7:56 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2023, at the home of her daughter’s family that Sherr in shared with them for the last year of her life. She was born December 27, 1942, in Audubon, Iowa, to Benjamin H. P. and Ollivene (Winther) Schmidt.

Surviving are her spouse, Lyle Klacsan of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter Kelly (Douglas) Murphy of Constantin­e; grandchild­ren Ellen Murphy (Constantin­e), KiAnna (Stephen) Martin (Wausau, Wis.), Emy Murphy ( Constantin­e), Caleb ( Salome) Murphy (Jones, Mich.), Josiah ( Rosemary) Murphy (Constantin­e), Kara (Daniel) Martin (Birnamwood, Wis.), Samuel Murphy (Constantin­e), Isaac Murphy ( Constantin­e), and Evelyn Murphy (Constantin­e); as well as five great-grandchild­ren – Clyde and Latisha Martin; and Carissa, Abrielle, and Nolan Murphy – all of whom Grandma Sherrin greatly enjoyed! Also, her older sister Phyllis Lauridsen (Iowa) and nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her older half-brother Duane Schmidt.

Sherrin worked for many years as the office manager of a CPA firm in Omaha, Neb., and had also been a secretary and bank teller during different times in her life. But more than that she was a great mom and grandma who loved her family deeply. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 4– 5:30 p.m., and 6–8 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, and one hour prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, all at the Yellow Creek Old Brethren Church, 26354 CR 38, Goshen. Home ministry will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
