HIGHFILL — Lester James Wills,

-

75 of Highfill, passed away February 24, 2023, at the Circle of Life in Bentonville, Ark. He was born August 12, 1947, in Pleasanton, Kan., the son of Elmer David “Jack” Wills and Ruth Welcome Wills.

He worked over a decade at Cooper Building Materials in Bella Vista, and over two decades at Lumber Mart in Siloam Springs. He worked in almost all positions throughout his career, from delivery to salesman, to management. Dad always provided for his family and was a hardworking man.

Dad was an expert craftsman in carpentry, with a calibrated eye and able to create and construct anything he put his mind to with lumber. His ability to process numbers mentally with amazing speed and accuracy was phenomenal. Dad loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting deer, noodling catfish, or just sitting out late at night fishing. Dad was an avid reader; it would be safe to bet that he read close to every western novel written.

He had so many adventures throughout his lifetime and enjoyed telling those stories in great detail. Preceded in death by his girlfriend Selena Sorrels, his parents, his son Michael, and six siblings. He is survived by his children Crystal Grant, Bobby Wills and wife Brandy, Scotty Wills, and sister Mary Ann Bradley. Grandchildren Nicole, Clay, Holden, and great-grandchild Booker, and many nieces and nephews.
