SPRINGDALE — Mateo Luke Pounders- Nino of Springdale,

was born and passed away on June 20, 2023.

He is survived by his parents, Brock Pounders and Esmeralda Nino; maternal grandparents Imelda and Sabino Nino of Springdale; paternal grandparents Mike and Christy Pounders of Russellville; maternal great- grandmother Rufina Ortiz of Rioverde San Luis Potosí, Mexico; paternal great- grandparents Jay and Debbie Pounders of Springdale; Pat Ivie Jones of Springdale and Chris & Marcy Ragland of Harrison; aunts Karina, Rosa, Cristina and Sarahi Nino of Springdale; uncles Jesus Nino & wife Elizabeth; Sabino & Emmanuel Nino of Springdale; aunt Peyton (Pounders) Teague and husband Robert of Elkins; aunt Morgan (Pounders) Tellez and husband Esteban of Springdale; cousins Tripp and Crew Teague of Elkins and cousins Brodie and Austin Tellez of Springdale.

While our hearts ache because we did not get to enjoy his precious soul on this earth, we are comforted in knowing he is in heaven. Every once in a while God makes a soul that is too precious and pure for Earth, and Mateo was that pure, perfect soul.

Matthew 19: 14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

John 12:23-24 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

Funeral service will be held Monday June 26th at 11 a.m. at Westfield Chapel in Springdale, burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
