BENTONVILLE — Randy Emanuel Backstrom,
67, of Bentonville, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was born in Dallas, Tex., on Sept. 1, 1956, to Emanuel “Manny” Backstrom and Ima Mease Backstrom of Fayetteville.
He is survived by his mom, Ima Backstrom; his wife, Summer Benedict Backstrom; his sister, Ramona Taylor of Kansas City, Mo.; his sons, Joel Backstrom, of Virginia Beach, and Brody Howerton of San Diego; and daughters Brianne House, Holli Plunkett, Kimberly Miller, all of Mena; 14 grandchildren and four nephews and nieces.
Randy loved the Lord, had a servant’s heart, and was loved by many co-workers, staff, and friends. He was known for his generosity, strong work ethic, and contributions to support local law enforcement and first responders over the years. Under his tenure as General Manager of Callison Lough and Rollins Funeral Homes, he piloted Benton County’s first-ever 24/7 anonymous counseling-by-phone service for those in need.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, from 5-7 p.m. at Callison Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. A funeral service is set for Wednesday, October 18, at 2 p.m. at Cross Church in Rogers, with graveside to follow at Bentonville Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Guary Morgan, John Hicks, Bob Rollins, Mike Bowden, Captain Tony Marveggio, and Deputy Chief Myer Gilbert.
