- Ben Collins bcollins@nwaonline.com

With the snow melting and all of us left trying to thaw out our bones, it is time again to start thinking about where we can grab a good bite to eat around Northwest Arkansas.

Here is some food for thought.

Tacos 4 Life

Conway-based Tacos 4 Life announced in a press release the launch of its newest limited-time offer — grilled burritos.

Starting this past Tuesday, guests of the fast-casual taco spot can fill up on the ultimate burrito experience at its 10 participating locations, featuring three options offered at $9.99 each.

Grilled on a generously sized, 12-inch tortilla and served with a side of fresh roasted salsa, this limited selection delivers the perfect blend of savory and sweet with a hint of heat to each flavor profile, the release says.

“In response to our guests’ enthusiastic demand, we’re thrilled to introduce our latest menu additions — the delicious grilled burritos,” said Austin Samuelson, founder of Tacos 4 Life. “Our team takes great pleasure in constantly innovating and bringing new, tasty culinary offerings to our guests, ensuring that the Tacos 4 Life menu remains a fresh and flavorful experience.”

Calle Latin Cuisine

Fayetteville will soon have a new restaurant that serves Latin American cuisine.

Calle Latin Cuisine, to be located at 33 N. Block Ave., “highlights traditional dishes from Latin America with a modern twist,” according to their website.

The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.

No official opening date has been announced, but you can follow their social media accounts for updates on their progress.

Moff’s Pizza

A new pizza truck is open in Fayetteville.

Moff’s Pizza, parked in the lot at 205 W. Dickson St., recently announced their official hours on their Instagram account. The food truck is open at 4 p.m. Thursday through Monday until they are sold out.

“I’ve been developing pizza ideas, recipes, and methods for the past seven years,” owner Andy Moffet says on Moff Pizza’s website. “Dedication to craft is huge for me — sourcing quality ingredients, paying attention to detail, and a lot of intentionality go into each slice. You won’t find a better slice option in town. Moff’s is for everyone.”

Applebee’s

The Fort Smith location of a popular restaurant chain is closing.

According to a post on the River Valley Foodies group on Facebook, employees of the Fort Smith Applebee’s, located at 6818 Rogers Ave., were informed that Jan. 17 would the final day of operation for the bar and grill.

The post says that a Chuy’s restaurant will be taking its place.

El Charro

A Mexican restaurant in Fayetteville has closed its doors permanently.

El Charro Birrieria and Restaurant, located at 3120 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., now stands vacant, but the original El Charro restaurant in Springdale, located at 701 N. Thompson St., is still in business.

Bentoville Box

If you have been reading this column for little while, you may remember back in early November that I wrote a small bit about a new dining concept bringing a world-class Japanese culinary experience to Northwest Arkansas.

That concept is Bentoville Box.

If you want to take a deep dive into this venture, learn more about the people involved, discover what delicious dishes to expect or find out what the future holds for this culinary experience in Bentonville, do yourself a big favor and go check out April Wallace’s recent and excellent spotlight story on it here: nwaonline.com/news/2024/jan/18/bentoville-introducesnorthwest-arkansas-to-high.

We’ll be back soon with more restaurant news across Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. Email your news to bcollins@nwaonline.com.
