GRAVETTE — Don Henry Dunn,
age 89, of Gravette, Ark., died on January 16, 2024, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, AR. He was born on March 6, 1934, in Chidester, Ark., to William Henry Dunn and Tabitha Alice (Page) Dunn.
He married Gloria Butler on July 7, 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Don graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) and worked several years for State Farm before becoming a licensed private investigator specializing in Accident Reconstruction. He was a bivocational pastor of Pine Street Missionary Baptist Church in Harrison, Ark., before moving to Fayetteville in 1975. He was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church and a long term member of the Lions Club. Don enjoyed serving as a supervisor of the ushers for the Razorback Football, Basketball, and Baseball games. He was a life-long deer hunter!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alice Dunn, and siblings, J.B. Malone, George Malone, Royce Malone, and Alene Malone Young.
Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Dunn; son, Joe Dunn and wife, Joanie of Gentry, Ark.; daughters, Kimberly Chapman and husband, Alan of Gravette, Ark., and Kelly Kleinman and husband, Peter of Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn, Lori Schaefer, Kendall Kleinman, and Clayton Kleinman; and three great-grandchildren, Emryn, Ellori, and Faithlin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 10:15 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Ark., 20 E. Dickson Street, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701 with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. A committal service at Fayetteville National Cemetery will precede the memorial service. Doug Falknor will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
