SPRINGDALE — Mary Margaret (Petillo) Pitts,

-

formerly of Tulsa, Okla., went to meet her Lord and Savior, face to face, early Sunday morning, February 18, 2024, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She is now rejoicing with her husband of 70 years, Joe, and her daughter, Holly, who both preceded her in their journey to be with our Heavenly Father.

Margaret was a devoted mother, wife and business owner. Growing up, she lived in Cyril, Boone and Oklahoma City. Margaret attended Classen High School in Oklahoma City, where she graduated in 1946. She then attended Oklahoma City University. Margaret came to know Christ as a teenage girl while attending Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Joe and Mary Margaret met at Olivet Baptist Church, where she caught Joe’s eye while she was singing in the church choir. They were married at Olivet on May 28, 1950 and were married for 70 years before Joe’s passing. Mary Margaret had a fulfilling happy life with many experiences and many stories to tell. She was a very generous lady with a gift for hospitality and was known for her excellent cooking and baking which was always from scratch. She and Joe loved playing cards and games with friends. In their later years, they started several bridge groups in Tulsa and most recently in Springdale. She made many treasured friendships through the years with her bridge partners. She was still playing bridge twice a week, as her bridge friends were kind enough to come to her house to play bridge with her.

Mary Margaret will be greatly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and bridge partners. Even so, we are comforted thinking of her rejoicing, pain free, with the heavenly host and with all her beloved family members and friends that have preceded her.

Mary Margaret was known by many names … Mother, Grandma, Gammy, Aunt Mary and Auntie Margaret. She is survived by her daughter, Becky and her husband Greg Tuck; granddaughter Crissy Johnson and her husband Isaac Johnson; grandson Crosby Tuck and his wife Lauren Tuck and great grandsons Nate, Cole and Rowen Tuck.

Mary Margaret’s memorial service will be held at Cross Church in Springdale, Ark., on April 13, 2024 at 11 a.m.
