Detectives learned earlier this month that drugs were being distributed from the residence at 1772 N. Chestnut Ave. in Fayetteville, according to the preliminary police report.

The drug task force searched the residence Thursday. Officers saw Hughes look out the window and then heard him running through the house, the report states.
Upon making entry, officers heard an upstairs toilet flushing multiple times. Hughes was found sitting on the toilet. His hands were wet and there were drug packaging materials surrounding the toilet that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.
A search of the house found almost a quarter ounce of methamphetamine, an ecstasy pill and $3,791 cash commingled with $1,000 in marked cash that was used in the controlled buy, all located in Hughes’ bedroom.
In a common utility closet, police found a dozen Adderall pills, 21 pregabalin pills and more than a quarter ounce of marijuana in individual baggies, according to the report.
In an upstairs bedroom, police found 965 suspected fentanyl pills and a pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.
In another upstairs bedroom, police found a red box, a mirror, credit cards and a penny that tested positive for methamphetamine and three metal straws with cocaine residue, according to the report.
