BASEBALL

GRAVETTE GRAVETTE 10, 10, BERRYVILLE BERRYVILLE 0 0 Brody Bohannon had three hits and drove in a pair of runs while three pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout as Gravette advanced in the 4A-1 Conference Tournament with a home victory over Berryville. The Lions took a 3-0 lead in the first on Kash May’s RBI single and Cade Phillips’ two-run double, then went on to take the run-rule victory. Phillips had two hits and two RBI for Gravette, which will play at Pea Ridge in Wednesday’s quarterfin­al action, while Holden Betz, Phillips and Kyle Murphy pitched two innings apiece.

HUNTSVILLE 13, GENTRY 3 Huntsville erupted for 10 runs in bottom of the sixth inning to pull away from Gentry and earn the 4A-1 Conference Tournament’s opening-round game at Huntsville. Kase Evans was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give the Eagles a 4-3 lead, followed by Paxton Harriman’s tworun double. Evans also added an RBI single during the outburst. Evans had three hits to lead Huntsville while four other Eagles had two hits apiece. The win moves Huntsville into a quarterfin­al game Wednesday at third seed Farmington.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 7, BENTONVILL­E WEST 6 Luke Cornelison’s solo home proved to be the decisive run as Har-Ber held on to defeat West at the Wolverine Athletic Complex. Cornelison’s seventh-inning blast gave the Wildcats (21-5, 11-4) a 7-3 lead, but the Wolverines pulled within a run when Evan Rosado scored on a wild pitch and Jeremiah Jones had a two-run single. Jones stole second before Blayne Elsey had an infield single, but Jones was thrown at the plate to end the game. Caleb Smith had two hits and drove in three runs for Har-Ber while Jones led West with two hits and two RBI.

SPRINGDALE 5, FORT SMITH

NORTHSIDE 2 D.L. Morton’s squeeze bunt allowed Andrew Lind to score the go-ahead run and led to Springdale’s victory at home over Northside. Lind had a leadoff triple in the bottom of the third before Morton’s bunt gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead, then Nick Brady provided some insurance with a two-run single in the fourth. David Rodriguez had two of Springdale’s six hits and also pitched four innings in relief of Lind to earn the win.

VALLEY SPRINGS 14, YELLVILLE-SUMMIT 3 Blain Roberson three hits and drove in a pair of runs as Valley Springs defeated Yellville-Summit during the 3A-1 Conference Tournament at Flippin. The Tigers broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the third, then pulled away with a nine-run outburst in the sixth. Logan Avery added two hits for Valley Springs, which combined eight hits with 17 walks issued.

SOFTBALL

BENTONVILL­E 1, ROGERS HERITAGE 0 Kylee Wyman scored the game’s only run in the top of the seventh inning as the Lady Tigers picked up a 6A-West Conference victory. Wyman doubled with one out and stole third base. She scored on a sacrifice fly to left field to give Bentonvill­e (21-5, 11-2) a 1-0 lead. Ryann Sanders worked a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh to clinch the victory. Wyman finished with two of Bentonvill­e’s five hits — both of them doubles — while Demi Donahoe had two hits. Sanders finished with 11 strikeouts and two hits allowed, both singles to Heritage’s Isabelle Canizales and Lily Humphries. Joclyn Strickland allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and struck out 2 in a complete game effort for Heritage (14-11, 6-5). ROGERS 5, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER

0 The Lady Mounties (23-2, 111) remained in first place in the 6A-West Conference with a shutout victory over the Lady Wildcats (17-8, 9-4). Rogers scored a run in the top of the third on an RBI hit by Khyleigh Kelley. The Lady Mounties added three runs in the sixth and Dahana Tuomala hit a solo home run in the seventh. Kelly finished with two hits and an RBI, while Lauryn Heinle had two hits and run scored. Molly Courcy and Mak Fithian each had a hit, run and RBI. Pitcher Ava Johnson had a hit and RBI and struck out 13 batters in a complete game effort. Anniston Reith had two of Har-Ber’s three hits.
