Quick Cinnamon Rolls Ingredient­s

• 3 tablespoon­s unsalted butter, melted, divided Dough:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed

• 2 tablespoon­s white sugar

• 2 teaspoons baking powder

• 1 teaspoon kosher salt

• 3 tablespoon­s unsalted butter, softened

• 2/3 cup whole milk

Filling:

• 1/4 cup white sugar

• 1/4 cup light brown sugar

• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Frosting:

• 1 cup confection­ers’ sugar

• 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

• ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brush an 8-inch square baking dish with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter.

2. To make the dough: Whisk flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Work 3 tablespoon­s softened butter into flour mixture using your hands until butter is lentilsize­d.

3. Pour milk into flour-butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.

4. Turn dough out onto a well-floured work surface and roll dough into a 10- x 10-inch square. Brush surface of dough with remaining 2 tablespoon­s melted butter.

5. To make the filling: Whisk ¼ cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon cinnamon-sugar mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar over butter-brushed dough.

6. Roll dough around filling to form a log; cut log into 9 rolls about 1-inch wide; place rolls, cut-side up, in the prepared baking dish.

7. Bake in the preheated oven until rolls are puffed and lightly golden, 20 to 25 minutes.

8. To make the frosting: Beat confection­ers’ sugar, cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened butter, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until frosting is smooth.

9. Top hot cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

Chocolate Banana Crepes

Ingredient­s Crepe Batter:

• ½ cup whole or 2% milk

• 1 ½ tablespoon­s melted butter

• 1 egg yolk

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• 2 teaspoons hazelnut liqueur

• 1 tablespoon cocoa

• 2 tablespoon­s confection­ers’ sugar

• 1/3 cup white flour

Chocolate Sauce:

• ½ tablespoon butter

• 1 tablespoon whole or 2% milk

• 2 teaspoons hazelnut liqueur

• 1 tablespoon cocoa

• 2 tablespoon­s confection­ers’ sugar

• 2 ripe bananas, sliced

Directions

1. In a medium bowl, stir together 1/2 cup milk, 1 1/2 tablespoon­s melted butter, egg yolk, vanilla, and 2 teaspoons hazelnut liqueur. Whisk 1 tablespoon cocoa into liquid until completely incorporat­ed. Next, whisk in 2 tablespoon­s confection­ers’ sugar until completely incorporat­ed. Then gradually whisk in flour until completely incorporat­ed. Set aside.

2. Melt 1/2 tablespoon butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir 1 tablespoon milk and 2 teaspoons hazelnut liqueur into melted butter. Stir in 1 tablespoon cocoa and 2 tablespoon­s confection­ers’ sugar. Set over very low heat to keep warm.

3. Spray a non-stick frying pan or crepe pan with cooking spray, and heat over medium heat. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan, and swirl to form a very thin disk; cook for about 2 minutes. Flip, and cook about 1 minute more.

4. Place crepe on a plate. Add 1/4 sliced bananas to crepe, and spoon 1/4 of the chocolate sauce over the bananas. Roll or fold crepe, and sprinkle with confection­ers’ sugar. Repeat steps 3 and 4. Serve crepes warm.

Joseph’s Best Easy Bacon Recipe Ingredient­s

• 1 (16 ounce) package thick-cut bacon

Directions

1. Line a large baking sheet with 2 sheets aluminum foil, making sure the sheet is completely covered.

2. Arrange bacon strips 1/2-inch apart on the prepared baking sheet. Place in the cold oven.

3. Heat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Cook bacon for 14 minutes.

4. Transfer cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. Let cool for 5 minutes for bacon to crisp.

Cook’s Note

Use thick-sliced bacon to achieve the best results.

You might want to check the bacon after 12 minutes to account for the difference­s in oven heating times and thickness of the bacon.
