Fry, 87, of Newton, passed on

Thursday, February 9, 2023.

A native of Cabarrus County,

NC she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy

Leonard Barnhardt Sr. She was a graduate of UNC-Charlotte and was an elementary school teacher for 25 years.

As a minister’s wife she was very active in church, school and community activities.

Mrs. Fry was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Homer Edgar Fry and by her son, Franklin Edgar Fry. She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Fry Reese of Morganton; son, Nelson Earl and his wife Teresa Fry of Hickory; daughter in law, Sherry Fry of Conover; grandchildren; Ashley Fry Byrd and her husband Matt of Wake Forest, Tyler Blake Fry and his wife Kelsey of Wake Forest, Trevor Hampton Fry of Hickory, Hailey Adele Fry of Winston Salem, Lacey Taylor Callahan of Hickory, Taylor Cansler and her husband Dillon of Conover, and AnaLen Csobady of Hickory; and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 2:00pm with Pastor Ralph Kraft officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. Paul Memorial Park.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Carolina Caring Hospice and to WELCA of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
