Notes: The Lady Red Devils are set for part 4 against East Burke.
It lost twice to conference foe East Burke during the regular season before exacting a little bit of revenge against the Lady Cavs in the Catawba Valley 2A Conference tournament championship at CVCC. Newton-Conover secured the tournament title with a 58-45 victory.
Furthermore, Saturday’s state playoff match-up will be the first time the two have met in the post-season since the Lady Red Devils’ 2019-20 state championship season. In that fourth round contest on March 3, 2020, Newton-Conover defeated East Burke in overtime, 58-55.

Noteables: East Lincoln Ties a School Record for wins in a season with 29. The 1973 Undefeated Lady Mustangs were 29-0.
Up Next: East Lincoln hosts No. 23 St. Stephens in the third round of the 3A West State Playoffs on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m.
East Lincoln defeated the Lady Indians in the Western Foothills 3A Conference tournament championship on Feb. 17, 62-53.
Also of note, this will be the furthest St. Stephens has gone in the state playoffs since the 2006-07 season when it lost in the third round against T.C. Roberson on Feb. 22, 2007. The Lady Indians lost in the first round of the 3A West playoffs in 2022 to Ashe County.
