Wingate Wins SAC Regular Season Title, Seeds for 2023 SAC Men’s Soccer Championship Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs captured their second consecutive regular season crown after finishing the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer season with 28 points and a record of 9-1-1 in league play. With the win, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship.

Limestone earns the No. 2 seed after finishing conference play with an 8-2-1 record and 25 points.

Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 3 seed after completing league play with a 6-2-3 record and 21 points. Lincoln Memorial finished the season with a 6-3-2 record in conference play and 20 points to take the No. 4 seed, and Anderson earned the No. 5 seed with a 5-3-3 record and 18 points.

Catawba earned the No. 6 seed with a 5-4-2 record and 17 points. Coker took the No. 7 spot with a 5-4-1 record and 16 points.

Carson-Newman rounds out the field as the No. 8 seed with a 3-5-4-3 record and 12 points. Carson-Newman and Tusculum both finished with 3-5-3 records and 12 points, but Carson-Newman won the tiebreaker by virtue of a 3-1 win on Nov. 1.

The 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 4 and Sunday, Nov. 5, before moving to the Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 10 and 12. The South Atlantic Conference’s Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament.
