Buddy The Elf comes to The Green Room

Based on one of the most beloved holiday films in recent years, The Green Room Community Theatre is thrilled to bring “Elf the Musical” to their stage. The holiday-film turnedmusi­cal features songs by Tony Award nominees, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin with a book by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. This comedic confection that will make everyone want to spread Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear. Elf The Musical opens November 17th.

Lucas DaVore stars as Buddy, a human accidental­ly transporte­d to the North Pole as a baby and raised there with the misbelief that he, like everyone around him except Santa (Peter Bost) is an elf. Upon learning the truth, he journeys to New York City to find his father (John Workman). Arriving in the big, bad city, he is distraught to learn that his birth father is on the “naughty” list and that his half-brother Michael (Rian Rogers) and his stepmother (Ava Miller) don’t believe in Santa. Luckily, Buddy makes some new friends in the city, including loveintere­st Jovie (Rachel Isaac), and even Walter’s secretary Deb (Christina Garris) and the two writers. Even still, things go badly with his father when Mr. Greenway (W. Scott Major) arrives on the scene. Buddy seems more lost than ever, but when Santa’s sleigh is stranded in New York, Buddy rallies those around him to help Santa and save Christmas. Elf The Musical is Directed by Bill Morgan, Musically Directed by Kiki Neale, and Choreograp­hed by Jana Sales. The show is produced by People’s Bank and McCreary Modern.

Performanc­es are scheduled for November 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, Dec. 1, 2, 3, 2023. On Friday and Saturday, the performanc­es will be at 7:30pm. On Sunday,the performanc­es will be at 3:00pm.
